Penn State Football: Comprehensive Seasoned Time Results and Evaluation

For a few Penn State football players, the program's annual pro day provided another possiblity to build off the NFL merge and impress scouts. For others, it had been their only opportunity. Men like Matthew McGloin and Stephon Morris were left empty-handed when it came to an invite to the mix, but took full benefit of the chance to show their stuff. A complete of 14 draft-eligible seniors were available at the Lasch Building and Holuba Hall to highlight athleticism, skills and everything between. In terms of NFL representation, 23 of the 32 organizations were represented, like the ten playoff clubs of 2012. Also, Nittany Lions head mentor Bill O'Brien was on hand combined with remaining training and health staff. That all being said, let's have a look at how the seniors executed on Monday. Matthew McGloin, QB Bruce Thorson-USA TODAY Sports Height: 6'1'' Weight: 207 pounds Straight Jump: 28 inches 40-Yard Dash: 4.89 moments Without a vacation to the combine, the Nittany Lions' all-time leading passer (6,390 passing meters, 64 touchdowns) went to the professional day with a chip on his neck (and rightfully therefore). While he does not possess the physical characteristics one would hope within an NFL signal-caller, it should be interesting to observe much attention he features from professional teams adhering to a huge transformation in 2010. Matt Stankiewitch, OL Bradley Leeb-USA TODAY Activities Height: 6'3'' Weight: 302 pounds Extensive Jump: 8'2" Stankiewitch, who's looking to follow in the footsteps of former Lions lineman Stefan Wisniewski, didn't participate in the majority of events as he did so at the combine recently. He noted a dash time of 5.43 seconds and 27 representatives at table media, among other events. Henry Farrell, OL Reese Strickland-USA TODAY Activities Height: 6'6'' Weight: 303 pounds Bench Press: 20 associates Broad Jump: 9'1" and 9'2" 40-Yard Dash: 5.08 seconds Farrell, an overlooked presence on the Lions' unpleasant point, offers very strong height at 6'6''a'something that should give him a much better opportunity to be picked or found as an undrafted free agent. Jordan Mountain, DT Evan Habeeb-USA TODAY Sports Height: 6'1'' Weight: 303 pounds Broad Jump: 9'3" Straight Jump: Unavailable 40-Yard Dash: 4.97 The greatest notice from Hill's time was his enhanced 40-yard dash time compared to the blend. In Indianapolis, the All-Big Ten defensive tackle clocked at 5.23, reducing his time down not quite 0.3 moments ever since then. Sean Stanley, DE Evan Habeeb-USA TODAY Sports Height: 6'1'' Weight: 243 pounds 40-Yard Dash: Unavailable Table Press: 18 reps Stanley, after working with damage once more in 2012, was healthier and seeking to demonstrate his athleticism to NFL scouts at the professional time. Gerald Hodges, OLB Wealthy Barnes-USA TODAY Activities Height: 6'1'' Weight: 243 pounds Shuttle Drill: 4.25 moments Vertical Jump: 35.5 inches Hodges, who didn't attempt to improve on his middle-of-the-pack 40-yard dash time (4.78 seconds) from the combine, did show promise with a good posting on the taxi exercise. Stephon Morris, CB Wealthy Barnes-USA TODAY Sports Height: 5'8'' Weight: 168 pounds 40-Yard Dash: Morris said a short while later that two scouts unofficially timed him at 4.16 and 4.2. He later tweeted saying his official time was 4.35 seconds. Straight Jump: 35 inches Wide Jump: 10' While Morris impressed with his pace, relative news was made by him with what he said following exercises. As John Stuetz of The Daily Collegian reports, Morris claimed he was "pissed off" when he did not receive an invitation to the NFL combine. Since the NFL Network got on TV, it hurt, because Iave been looking at the Combine since I was like eight years of age. I remember I used to always consider it and jot down their names and their times and undergo every defensive straight back. I just always desired to go.
