Tottenham Hotspur have now been given a potentially major blow in their pursuit of Brazilian striker Leandro Damiao. Stories in Italy claim the forward is on the verge of signing for Napoli, with the Serie aAa part accepting a charge in the region of A16million for the person. Spurs have now been following the player for a while, based on talkSPORT, with radio stations station declaring past boss Harry Redknapp and current chef Andre Villas-Boas both tried to appeal the player to White Hart Lane. Certainly, the statement goes on to declare that Tottenham Hotspur were in negotiations with Internacional on deadline day through the January exchange screen, but were unable to consider a deal. And, Villas-Boas was willing to move again for the player at the conclusion of the summer season, based on the record, as the former Porto chief considers his approaching choices in north London. Spurs only have two senior strikers available, with Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor available to aAVBa.
