New Details of Rolando McClain's Charge Allegedly Arise

Just days after signing a one-year contract and receiving a 2nd chance with the Baltimore Ravens, linebacker Rolando McClain was caught Sunday in his home of Decatur, Ala., after being charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, based on Monique Jones and Jeff Zrebiec of The Baltimore Sun. The Ravens did not wish to comment until more details about the charge appeared, saying only (via team spokesman Kevin Byrne), amazement are looking more facts with this. The sole information we have currently is from news reports.a According to ZrebiecA, additional information of the charge attended to light, and they do not bode well for McClain and his dreams of making the Ravensa roster: If most of these allegations against McClain are true, this is actually the insufficient good sense that the former first-round pick displayed while with the Oakland Raiders that created the teamas decision to cut a simple one to him. After signing McClain this offseason, Ravens common manager Ozzie Newsome informed The Baltimore Sun concerning the troubled linebackeras opportunity to make the team and the way the franchise would manage his conduct: Rolando is just getting an opportunity to make and come our 53-man lineup. That's it. ... As for how he is likely to conduct himself here, he's coming here merely to be described as a element of this football team. I think the people in the locker room will be able to provide him with the proper guidance as to the way in which John needs his football players and his football team to be that he wants. There is an excellent chance that Ravens officers feel that these offenses are detrimental and egregious to the group, and there is little doubt that business will consider cutting the linebacker. As Zrebiec's tweets indicate, this isnat the very first time McClain has already established difficulty with what the law states, either. McClain had his newest run-in with what the law states (just before Sunday's arrest) on Jan. 8 of the year, after being arrested for lying to police about his identity (h/t NFL.com). McClain was charged with four misdemeanors (h/t ESPN) and also arrested in May of 2012, but that case was dropped after McClain allegedly stumbled on an economic deal with the accuser. The long record of problems with the law and a commitment that can easily be voided are all signs that indicate the Ravens slicing their ties with McClain and addressing their need at middle linebacker in the draft.
