Obama says America is strong and resilient

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama says America is strong and resilient in the face of the Boston Marathon deadly explosions and won't let "cowardly acts get in the way of our lives."

Obama spoke during a ceremony welcoming NASCAR driver Brad Keselowski to the White House. Obama saluted Keselowski's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship.

Earlier Tuesday, Obama appeared in the White House briefing room where he called the deadly blasts an act of terrorism, but said the perpetrator and the motive remained unknown.
