Borussia Dortmund Fans to Take Over Wembley Stadium for UCL Final - SWOL

Borussia Dortmund are apparently looking to do their best replication of the Westfalenstadion at Wembley Stadium on May 25th, as the side are set to take on Bayern Munich in the Champions League final.  The Telegraph recently released news of how many BVB fans actually applied for Champions League final tickets and the numbers are astonishing.

Both Bayern and Dortmund have been given a combined total of 50,000 tickets for May 25th's encounter, while Wembley only holds a total of 86,000.  But, what Dortmund fan could miss a chance to possibly see their beloved club win its second Champions League crown?  BVB's previous final appearance came back in 1997 when they took down Juventus 3-1.

A grand total of 502,567 applications have been sent in for a chance at the 25,000 tickets allotted to Borussia.  Spokespeople from the club are simply astonished by their supporters desire to travel to Wembley and stated "It's absolutely crazy."  And rightly so – over half a million applications is nothing short of impressive.

The support for both German clubs shows the rapid growth that the Bundesliga has undergone in recent seasons.  On Dortmund's part, their chairman Hans-Joachim Watzke told BBC Sport "Ten years ago every member of our club would have had a chance for a ticket.  Since we only have 24,000 at our disposal, we will only be able to fulfill every 20th request."

Just as Germany welcomed Chelsea into the Allianz Arena in last seasons Champions League, England will likely do the same for arguably two of the best teams in the world this term.  Jurgen Klopp and Jupp Heynckes both will relish the moment at Wembley; however, as the Heynckes era is about to come to an end as Pep Guardiola is set to take charge this summer, defeat is not an option for the Bavarians.

A heated battle is set for May 25th; fans will battle for a spot at the fabled all-German final, while both Dortmund and Bayern will look to secure Champions League glory.  Can Bayern avenge last seasons Champions League collapse?  Will Mario Gotze be healthy enough to play in the final, and possibly even net a winner?  With a little over two weeks until a champion is crowned in Europe, numerous story-lines will continue to take form.
