World of golf Digest’s Testing Confirms GolfBlogger’s Feelings Within the Wilson Duo.

The new issue of Golf Digest contains the results of tests conducted in the latest crop of golf balls. The data conforms what exactly I've thought all along for the Wilson Staff Duo: an exceptionally low driver spin speed. That's the reason, I believe, that I get a great deal distance off the golf tee. The only bargain ball using a lower drive spin rate was the top Flite Gamer, but that ball has even less spin off the sand iron. The Duo is virtually no whirling dervish, but it happens to be tops among bargain baseballs. The other $20 in addition to under balls have either less driver and a lesser amount of wedge spin rates.

The other ball I would consider is the Callaway HEX Diablo, which according to the chart has a a bit higher wedge spin rate and comparable driver spin.

In a $21 - $36 dollar range, the Callaway Hex Chrome seems as if it might satisfy my dependence on a low driver rewrite ball. At the highest end, the low spin winner could be the Srixon Z-Star XV

New york Basketball: Ranking the 5 The majority of Hyped Recruits in 'Heels Historical past.

It's hard to assume any Tar Heel recruit having more hype so that you can his name than Harrison Barnes. He was considered the nation's top recruit for 2010, smack-dab during the most attention-friendly era of recruiting within the history of college court.

Averaging 24 points in addition to eight rebounds during your partner's freshman season, Barnes led his Ames Secondary school team to a 26-0 record along with the 2009 state title. Calls and from coaches flooded that Iowa native.

Many saw his recruitment for a battle between Duke and North carolina, giving the Barnes hype and bigger boost. Coach Williams and Coach Krzyzewski even came along at his house on a single day. By November of 2009—his senior year—Barnes committed to Carolina via a Skype phone call to Roy Williams.

With a field associated with reporters covering his selection, Harrison and his mommy, Shirley Barnes, took the time to answer a stretch of questions. That's in the event the world found out that Michael jordan was the single-most influential player for Barnes.

According to the Chicago Tribune, his mother was such a big fan of The air jordan, she taped every one of the Hall of Famer's video game titles. As soon as Barnes was old enough to look at TV, she was feeding her son those equal Jordan tapes.

That's what I spent their childhood years watching. They were my own cartoons. I just usually watched his basketball mmorpgs, and through time it began to sink in. And browsing really had a passion for ones game.

Considering Tar Heel fans—and everyone included in basketball, for that matter—are keeping their eyes peeled for "the next Jordan, inches his comments only fed the frenzy.

With the second consecutive season, Barnes led Ames for an undefeated season and one other state title. He averaged twenty six. 1 points, 10 rebounds, a few assists and 3. 1 steals for each game during his older year in Iowa—as a known future Tar Calcaneus.

On top of her team accomplishments, Barnes was also termed the Morgan Wootten Player with the Year and earned co-MVP honors in both the Jordan Brand Classic along with the McDonald's All-American game really.

Harrison Barnes often have never lived up to your hype that followed him to Chapel Hill, but it's hard to imagine anyone could. He had a good college career, averaging 19. 1 points as some sort of sophomore before leaving for the NBA.

Comparisons to Jordan simply aren't fair for virtually any player, yet somehow everyone drops under the spell after the words "the following Jordan" are spoken. Rest room "the next" should never provide, whether it's applied to Jordan, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James or anyone.

Alas, we all know it's going to continue happening. The hype train can forever be choo-chooing it's way down the modern recruiting trail, and Chapel Hill will remain one of its initial stops.

Toronto Raptors: Can the Raptors Make a Push into the Playoffs Next Season?

Last season had its up and downs for the Toronto Raptors. They started off the season horribly. It seemed like Toronto might once again be one of the bottom-feeders of the Eastern Conference.

Right after Andrea Bargnani went down with an arm injury in a game against the Portland Trailblazers, the Raptors seemed to pick up the pace. With Ed Davis in the starting power forward slot, the Raptors now had two big men in Davis and Jonas Valanciunas who defended the paint, grabbed rebounds on both ends of the floor and made a couple of baskets here and there.

The Raptors seemed to be poised to make a push for the playoffs, as they were creeping up to the eighth spot, and things seemed to be going in the right direction.

Then, in a pretty unexpected move, the Raptors traded away longtime Raptor Jose Calderon and Ed Davis to the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for one of the elite small forwards of the game in Rudy Gay. Gay finally gave the Raptors the small forward they were looking for.

Since the Gay trade, the Raptors were 18-18 to finish off the season, right at the .500 mark. If this were to happen throughout the whole season, so to speak, the Raptors would have been in the playoffs and probably would have given Miami a better run for their money than the Bucks did.

With Gay, the Raptors now have someone who can create his own shot, and although some of his shot selections are not the best, Rudy Gay can score. His defense is also above average, using his length and wingspan to guard opposing small forwards and, at times, power forwards.

The true result of the trade will be seen in the near future, but for the upcoming season, it looks like Bryan Colangelo made a smart move. The chemistry between Rudy and DeMar DeRozan got better as the season went on, and it seemed like they complemented each other very well near the end of the season.

With more chemistry under their belt, this young Raptors squad could definitely make the playoffs next season. DeMar DeRozan and Jonas Valanciunas are still young and are key pieces to this team's future.

Terrence Ross may not end up being a starter with the acquisition of Gay, but he can be the sixth man who brings defense, athleticism and the three-point shot off the bench. Ross struggled last season, but he was only a rookie and is still learning the game at the NBA level.

With Bryan Colangelo no longer the general manager, all Raptor fans are wondering what the new general manager may do in order to improve this team.

They don't have much cap space, so free agents are not going to solve anything in the near future, and they have no picks in this draft, so the one thing Raptor fans can lean on is chemistry, hoping this team learns to work with each other in order to make a push for the playoffs.

It is safe to say this upcoming season may be the most exciting one, and it will definitely come with huge expectations. The playoffs aren't guaranteed, but this Raptors team can definitely make a push next season.

Today In Being A Real Estate Mogul: Alex Rodriguez Spent $15 Million On His Miami Mansion And Flipped It For $30 Million

Alex Rodriguez is an injured, disgraced former All-Star who would make his own team's fans eternally grateful if he never returned to the baseball diamond. But a man can't just sit around waiting for potential steroid bombshells to drop on his head while he recovers from hip surgery — he's gotta do something! Like make a shit ton of money in his real estate dealings!

A-Rod reportedly purchased the property for his mansion in 2010 for $7.4 million, then spent another $7.6 million (or, as he calls it, the money he found in a pocket of old jeans and under the couch) building the house itself.

The 19,861-square-foot estate — which features 9 bedrooms, 11 full bathrooms (plus 2 half bathrooms), a 4-car garage and Matt Damon as a neighbor — was just sold for a whopping $30 million. That will turn out to be an incredible investment if the new owner finds steroids in the bathroom cabinet.

Manchester City aim to profit from end of an era following Alex Ferguson's ... - Telegraph.co.uk

His captain, Vincent Kompany, predicted a very hard title race next season and added that City were "writing their own history".

Both senior figures in the Etihad dressing room paid tribute to the departing Ferguson but are clearly looking forward to next season's pursuit of the Premier League. "United is a great club and Ferguson is a big character at this club,'' said Touré. "He has built everything at United and the balance I hope will go to the City side now.

"We will see next year because there will be a lot of rivalry between Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and United [as well as City]. Tottenham is coming through and the Premier League is going to be very, very tough."

Kompany agreed, dismissing criticism of this season's standards having dipped. "Anyone who thinks the Premier League is going backwards is making a huge mistake,'' said the City centre-half.

"Next season will be harder than ever. The fact that the English clubs were out so early in the Champions League has rallied everyone to show that we are better than that." He expected plenty of activity in the transfer market.

"It will be a good summer for you [media] guys in the sense that a lot of clubs have to become better and a lot of clubs are hoping for a better season," added Kompany, who leads Manchester City out in Saturday's FA Cup final against Wigan Athletic.

Kompany lifted the Cup in 2011 but City's celebrations were overshadowed by United securing the Premier League. History could be repeating itself. "I have congratulated United for winning the league, credit is due to them,'' said Kompany.

"Sir Alex has done great things for football and for Manchester United - fair play to them but we are writing our own history. We can do that on Saturday again.''

It has been a frustrating season for City, whose defence of their hard-won title was poor, so Kompany and Touré are determined to end the term on a positive note.

"You can look back on the season and say this went wrong or that went wrong but in the future people will look back at the trophies you have won. The rest won't matter.''

Touré concurred, saying: "Every year is important for the club because we want this to be a big club. We let the Premier League trophy go to United, but now we want to win this one. For us, this will be a very important trophy.

"It is very important to keep winning trophies and that is why I signed a new contract. I want to be part of the history of the club. We have already won some trophies. I hope there is going to be more, like the Champions League and the Premier League, like the FA Cup.''

"In life you cannot be happy all the time and Kolo is a great man, a great personality and my big brother. Kolo was an important factor for me to come [to City]. He has always given me advice and he has told me not to worry, everything will be fine.''

The Bosnian international, who has scored 14 goals this season, has been the subject of speculation, and when asked if he could leave at the end of the season, he said: "We will see. Everything is open."

The 27-year-old was guilty of a glaring miss in last weekend's draw at Swansea City but made amends with a well-controlled winning volley against West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday.

Dzeko, an unused substitute when City beat Stoke City in the 2011 final, accepts he again may not start but is keen to be part of the action.

He said: "Everyone is hoping, everyone wants to play."I don't know. I don't think about that but I think that's not important. It's important to win it. It means a lot to the club, to the fans, to us players, to everyone."

Dzeko earned a tag of 'super sub' earlier this season after a spell of scoring goals off the bench. Six of his first seven came as a substitute.

It was not a nickname the player particularly liked but he is focused only on team glory rather than personal success this week.

He said: "That's my job to score goals, if I come on after 60 minutes or if I start." When asked if he dreamt of scoring the winner, he said: "I think it is important just to win it.

Possible reasons Federer folded thus tamely @ the 2013 Rome Masters final against Nadal.

With the exception of the obvious freaking arguments, the ONE, from on the list of non-obvious ones, that shines is this:

What Federer was 'asked' to be able to execute was far far far far beyond his current ability and also the blame for it should squarely fall on Annacone. Once that strain took hold entire game fell apart similar to a card of packs or similar to that. Heck, you can reasonably state - and win - that your stuff was beyond even with the years when he was with the height of his influence.

To attempt to interact Nadal's backhand at EACH AND EVERY exchange threw everything out of - from forehand so that you can backhand to net gameplay to backhand volley back to you name it. While it's just a noble cause and a powerful one, you need far far more juice than Federer carries today to even come close specially whenever you DON'T fare too well on returning the huge ball to where the idea came from - in the first place. But that original methodology at least allowed the rest of the game to stay complete delivering 10 wins inside 30 matches. This current plan may have won NONE - any time.

And that was just ONE part of the two-piece suit. The other was to activate your own forehand for EVERY freaking opportunity. Add the two and you've got to be surprised Federer won elements forget games - upon his serve - leave alone on Nadal's. That thinking pushed the 'regular' forehand into the 'starving' stage thereby forcing the necessity to hit an outright safe bet 'outlandish'. Nadal's famous defence didn't aid to push that state over and above ALL frontiers known to generate a win.

Federer missed routine forehands caused by a combination of above. He had to pull the trigger owing to conditions he created HIMSELF. AND Nadal didn't create some 'out of world' kind. He did'nt need to be able to as someone was busy self-destructing - by himself. If Federer had resorted to his regular strategy, he might have still lost nevertheless it would DEFINITELY have ended up FAR closer. So he took a gamble along with lost. Problem? This was a gamble without even taking into consideration the fact that NOT A SOUL had ever won in the casino in question : EVER. Not a pound. Second piece of a puzzle was non-existent and that was KNOWN to anybody except two clowns termed Annacone and Federer.

32 unforced errors to 8 from Nadal cannot be explained any other strategy. Want more? How about 58% first serve portion. 19, yes, 19 rushes with the net to 5 because of Nadal. Nadal won four ones. Federer? 9. And it wasn't a good coincidence that Federer rushed on the net at nearly EVERY break point - along with lost. It was a product of complete lack associated with plan B.

Nadal, nevertheless, was lucky he isn't facing Djokovic. Djokovic, perhaps at current state, might thrashed what Nadal made against Federer. Heck, even Federer would have cut it close in the event that.........

Nadal certainly has improved since his first tournament following your 7-month break BUT whether the crna can STILL beat Djokovic is up inside the air. That match up / mental dominance joined with nearly NO 'resistance' so that you can gauge progress adds real layer(s) of uncertainty despite the five-set format in play within the next outing.

Like Concerning barked before, Nadal facing Djokovic only once in four (Indian Bore holes, Monte Carlo, Madrid and Rome) 'expected' suffers from WILL favor Djokovic Greater than Nadal. When you include the aggressor, the onus shift over the aggressee to alter a status quo. Without attempts to swap, the incumbent stays get - pretty. No matter that which you do elsewhere and against ANYBODY else, it shouldn't impact the established variable - sufficiently.

Translation: If Djokovic faces Nadal - at ANY round -- at Roland Garros, you can actually bet for AT THE VERY LEAST a guaranteed thriller, if you are not a Djokovic win. Nadal isn't getting a pass he has received from everyone else since his return. Of the ONLY several losses Nadal has so far one is to Djokovic - and not coincidentally it's ONLY a in straight sets. You cannot shake that based solely out and about Nadal has had. It's like comparing oranges to help trucks or airplanes. There's no connection. Add the history regarding the two and............

As far as Federer is worried, having lost six matches shock as to in six attempts along with ONE 'lame' final berth above tomato cans, cannot bode well for the point-loaded territory he are going to be treading soon. Could he not really make the year-end top ten - forget the WTF? It's possible. Forget that, how about winning a title ANYWHERE - when fun?

The physical maturity offers finally lost the race while using the mental one - a mix that was largely liable for the spurt late previous season. The economical type of play may have ultimately hit the diminishing comes back post - after 15 several years as pro.

In pain Andy Murray unlikely to help play at French Available. From M. Thanks.

Andy Murray says however be "very surprised" to get fit for the The language Open after retiring injured against Marcel Granollers with the Italian Open.

The Briton endured some sort of miserable 26th birthday for the reason that he retired from his second-round tie which has a lower back injury.

Murray looked troubled across and despite battling back in win the second set tie-break to the Rome clay, he then withdrew ahead of decider.

"Medical prognoses from players inside heat of the moment can prove unreliable, but Andy Murray's intuition is telling him that he's a critical doubt for Roland Garros.

"The decision to retire with the match came swiftly, in addition to after his most inspired tennis, and he will now consult an array of experts before deciding perhaps the French Open is a realistic option.

"With Wimbledon and his US Open title defence beingshown to people there, Murray is concerned that a few gruelling matches on clay could have much worse long term repercussions. inches

"I pulled out because there was a good chance We be playing tomorrow easily got through. As it is, I'd be very surprised easily was playing in Paris, france, " said Murray.

"I need to manufacture a plan as to what I do. I'll chat with the guys tonight and make an insurance plan for the next few days then make a decision on Paris after the other five days. "

A Scot's only previous mid-match retirement living coincidentally came on their 20th birthday, when he snapped a tendons in his wrist within the 2007 Hamburg Masters.

Which has been the most serious harm Murray has suffered and led to him missing both that French Open and Wimbledon, and definitely be hopeful of avoiding the identical fate this time.

Murray struggled which includes a lower back problem during the entire clay season last season, one match against Jarkko Nieminen during the French Open prompting former Wimbledon champion Virginia Wade to call him a "drama queen".

He had injections before Wimbledon but said the issue returned in Madrid the other day and did not improve with rest. The situation became excessive after two sets against Granollers relating to the Rome clay.

"Until Madrid it ended up being OK but it's not been perfect for a long time, " he added. "You always visit matches with little niggles and such, but it's frustrating when for an extended time you're hurting.

"It's been an issue for quite a while now and I want to make sure it goes away. It may not be enjoyable when you're actively playing in pain. "

Granollers, everything number 37, took the primary set as Murray struggled to uncover any rhythm and things looked more serious for the Scot any time he required on-court treatment following on from the third game of the second set.

Murray lost 10 consecutive ideas following his enforced destroy for treatment, but the British primary battled on and recovered from 4-1 into level at 4-4.

Granollers broke Murray's serve within the ninth game but never serve out the match in the 10th, and as circumstances become increasingly testing, with swirling winds whipping around the court, the set went around to a tie-break.

Murray levelled your match when Granollers delivered a forehand long, before heading to his chair and informing the umpire he was retiring - to your amazement of his opponent plus the Rome crowd.

Master In the Twitterverse: Fantasy Baseball Advice on Curtis Granderson, Jason Heyward And more!

RotoExperts' Jake Ciely the right answers your Fantasy questions concerning Twitter @allinkid and increases on his answers here pay for.

I pulled both of these for topics, but not necessarily for in-depth debates or even stat analysis. This has been and always will end up my advice and suggestions with players returning out of injuries: sit your pitchers and additionally always play your stud hitters. Despite the fact that the pitcher is a superstar, such as Justin Verlander, I normally wait out the pioneer start back. Elite pitchers have off nights occasionally – in order to in their first online game back from injury– and another bad game can get you to work for a week merely get your ERA and WHIP on track again. However, with hitters, what's the worst that might happen? An 0-fer night? A good big 0-for-5 night isn't travelling to do much damage for the team. However, an professional hitter could knock a particular out, drive in a couple runs or even acquire a base or a few, so the upside is notably greater. Always start a person's stud hitters, and usually wait out a start out (maybe even two) for pitchers once your players are returning because of injuries.

This trade would are laughed away in your preseason. However, this is the reason why trade vetoes are the worst. fantasy. rule. at any time. In any case, I actually like Patrick Corbin a whole lot, and if this had been a keeper league, I'd have more pause. Still, Andrew McCutchen is about the Top 10-15 hitters inside Fantasy, as he'll find yourself with a. 270-. 280 AVG, mid-20 Hours, mid-20 SBs, near 100 Goes and 80-plus RBI. You can't realize many places. Chris Davis is actually rolling, but has been a bit lucky. You can expect 30-plus HRs through an AVG that won't hurt anymore, but no SB assistance and fewer Runs. Granted, Corbin has been lucky too which has a. 259 BABIP and 90. 2 LOB%. Corbin's K/BB ratio is down from a year ago, which is the motive for small concern if his luck reverts a tad. In the end, you might be getting a Top 20 player for a good hitter with power and a mid-level pitcher; you must take this.

This was a weekly lineup question, but there have been several about my inner thoughts on Justin Grimm. I recommend his strikeout potential, but Grimm is just a matchup have fun with, as evidenced by their five inning, five run outing resistant to the Athletics. His back-to-back showings with Mariners and Twins even more prove the matchup-based possible (13. 0 IP, 11 Gets, one ER, 13 Ks). Grimm would look better his previous outing, but his problem is he walks too many hitters (3. 1 BB/9) is susceptible to the long ball (1. 12 HR/9). Deep leaguers can continue hold of Grimm to your matchups, but even two-start months in H2H leagues aren't must-start scenarios for Grimm.

I'm hardly a big Jarrod Parker supporter. He's a mid-six K/9 guy using a BB/9 rate in your low-to-mid threes (actually, finished 4. 5 this year), and that doesn't leave many room for upside. Too see, Parker has a 6. 04 ERA, and in many cases his Expected Fielding Unbiased Pitching (xFIP) sits from 5. 11, so it's not only on bad luck. His HR/FB is usually way up, sure, but Parker just doesn't have dominating stuff. I liked Chris Tillman being sleeper for this time of year, and he is akin to Parker. Both are outstanding, but you could likely argue me into falling Tillman instead. Scott Kazmir maintain a pool of best pure stuff, but he's had health worries his entire career. Subsequent to three straight strong commences, Kazmir wasn't too good against Philly with 5. 0 IP together with four ER, but that came after three visits equaling 17. 0 IP, five ER and 21 Ks. Zach Wheeler is once thought more very of than Matt Harvey, so you will find there's ton of upside through a keeper league. Along with his injury though, don't expect Wheeler to show up until July. Which means that, while now is enough time owners start thinking of stashing prospects like Wheeler, and We certainly do so, keep winning this year in mind and lower Parker… or Tillman in the event that you'd rather.

This was before Ian Kennedy's previous start, and I'm not going to lie, but it sometimes have narrowed the gap considerably. Kennedy has been less than fortunate, but that's changed above his last few will start. You could see that in his 7. 0 IP, some ER, 4 K outing about the Phillies, but then Kennedy just went five deep with three ER and seven Ks with the Braves on May 15. Kennedy has only last seven innings triple, and it's because he's walking a lot of batters (3. 7 BB/9). Subsequently, Marco Estrada has been unlucky to boot, evidenced in his 3. 93 xFIP in comparison to his 5. 32 PERIOD OF TIME. The HR/FB rate is actually his biggest issue, resting at 19. 0 p . c. Estrada's strikeout rate is a bit better, but your partner's decreasing fastball speed and disastrous home run amount are worrisome. Both usually are worse than expected, but I'm giving Kennedy a longer leash.

@ja—sk: too early I know nevertheless assuming AP & Foster is gone who do I take w the next pick: McCoy, Dougie or somebody else?

Truthfully, I wouldn't argue too difficult if someone took Doug Martin while using the second pick. I wouldn't, and Arian Foster is just too good, but he's also a major injury risk with quality options behind him. Martin contains the Bucs backfield all to himself, and he only has to become more consistent (who doesn't on the Bucs offense though? ). Martin tied with Foster to your second most Fantasy elements, and his career is relating to the upswing with less associated risk than Foster.

This is one particular questions where the tweet's answer was a fantastic summary. Look, Brandon Moss has more power and really should hit around 25 HOURS. There is still some sort of question of his ability, or lack thereof, flow over lefties, and that will limit his upside. Angel Pagan will hit in a better average, swipe 20-plus basics and score several even more Runs. Pagan won't be which far behind in RBI and also the lost 15-20 homers are made in multiple categories coming from Pagan.

@allinkid: Seriously folks, since my Certainly no. 1 option, Kate Beckinsale, is taken…anyone that will hook me up with Taylor Cole may be in my debt for good

@Je—ne: Trying to get Alex Rios. Giving Nava Espinosa in addition to Loney. Am I not giving enough? Whats a person's opinion

There are two points I must make here. First, any moment I hear a deal that concerns a third player when trying to acquire one, my first instinct should be to say, "It won't job; He won't accept; Don't waste your time and effort. " It's the age-old quantity for quality. Loading up with mid-level players to get one semi-star just isn't fair and won't benefit additional owner. That's the initial point. The second one recommendations that this deal isn't terrible In the event the other owner is riddled along with injuries or is requiring MI and CI assistance. It's time to supply James Loney his anticipated. We all have some of our doubts, yes, but kept in mind however a regression coming (extremely getting a break. 398 BABIP), Loney can finish which includes a. 300 AVG, 10 AN HOUR and 60-70 Runs and additionally RBI. Alex Rios is going to do the same with your bump in HR (20-25 total), SB (20 or even so) and Runs/RBI (likely 5-10 more). That's a rub. What makes the Rios owner plan to lose that for Loney? Well, Danny Espinosa – up to I loathe him with his Adam Dunn-like AVG (around. 220) – will bring mid-teen power and speed within the MI spot. Daniel Nava can be described as terrific platoon-type who crushes righties. When i said, first glance is usually to tell this owner don't waste his time. However, if you target the appropriate team, a trio like this could possibly pry away a Rios-like abilitie. Maybe.

Indy 500 Commencing Grid: Top Qualifiers Designed to Struggle Sunday.

A 97th Indy 500 is usually scheduled for Sunday, Might 26, and the excitement surrounding the race has shifted to the starting grid and of which top qualifiers will struggle for the biggest IndyCar race with the year.

With 33 cars lining as much vie for the get at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, a car and operater qualifying well doesn't mean they are likely to sustain that position with each alternate competitor breathing down their own necks.

All of the examples below drivers performed well around qualifying—earning their way into the Fast Nine—but will get overtaken by better drivers behind them in the starting choose.

Despite qualifying relating to the pole, IndyCar veteran Ed Carpenter won't have the dream run that anyone begining with the front thinks concerning. There is a chance Carpenter finishes in the top 10, and driver and their team would consider if you have a success.

After just two top-10 stops in nine career will start at Indianapolis Motor Speedway—his perfect finish was fifth within 2008 with Vision Racing—there is not any reason to expect a greater finish from a racer containing finished 11th three moments.

Carpenter is also racing for his personal team now and likely put each one of his eggs into the qualifying basket. When it comes to Sunday's race, the veteran will be lucky to finish with the top 10.

While there isn't an discounting how exciting it's for E. J. Viso and the Andretti Autosport/HVM Auto racing teams that Viso could fun the fourth-fastest lap in qualifying, it's where definitely finish that should have everyone worried.

Viso has started this Indy 500 five times—finishing 24th or worse in four for the five chances—and only managed his best finish previous season, taking home 18th-place respects.

The hope from a driver and his team is that your lessons learned in the past will help him maintain in the race and have a good finish, but the track record for Viso speaks databases about where he'll end up finishing.

The excitement surrounding Thomas Hunter-Reay and his seventh-place starting position has the entire Andretti Autosport company and IndyCar fanbase at a fever pitch, but this grid spot incorporates a caveat: This driver doesn't finish races well.

Hunter-Reay is eligible to race your Indy 500 for five years since he positioned the Rahal Letterman Rushing team, and he has not finished better than 18th for the reason that time.

As great as his sixth-place finish was in 2008—Hunter-Reay's first chance within the illustrious track—the lack of success after that is indicative of just what race fans should expect that time as well.

Manchester United's Summer Tour: Everything You have to know - Bleacher Report.

David Moyes requires over at Manchester United this summer, and his first task will be to lead the team on just about the most gruelling preseason tours inside history of professional hockey.

Life without Sir Alex Ferguson could seem earth-shattering for many, but the summer see is positively earth-travelling. The squad will travel almost a similar distance as the circumference with the globe this July. Stomach muscles will better thought of so much traveling by plane would be enough to provide Dennis Bergkamp nightmares.

The squad will organize the 2013-14 campaign by entering a near 24, 000-mile rounded trip in over basically three weeks. United could play games in Bangkok, Quarterly report, Yokohama, Osaka and Hong Kong, with an estimated flying time an astounding 50 hours. One can only expectation the chosen airlines contain a decent selection of movies available.

The tour kicks-off using a friendly match against some Singha All-Star XI with the Rajamangala National stadium with Bangkok, Thailand on September 13, a mere 5, 960 miles from Manchester. For Moyes, the global reach of Manchester United is bound to hit home.

Next the club will fly 4, 680 miles to Australia in a six-day training camp around Sydney, culminating in a against the A-League All Stars at the ANZ Stadium on July 20. Hopefully Emile Heskey is included in some capacity for your opposition.

A 5, 200-mile journey to Yokohama is a follower of before a match against Yokohama F-Marinos within the Nissan Stadium on This summer 23, and before a 540-mile holiday to Osaka for their next fixture in Japan, next to Cerezo Osaka, Shinji Kagawa's old club, at the Osaka Nagai Arena three days later. The Japanese midfielder is sure to receive a rapturous reception previous to what could prove a major season for the footballer, should Wayne Rooney result in United

The tour might conclude once United makes the 1, 550-mile process to Hong Kong so that you can play Kitchee at Hong Kong Ground on July 29, just before flying 6, 000 a long way home to Manchester. Each of the five friendly fixtures are reported to become worth close to £1 million on the club.

Although the effect in the Glazers has seen Usa curb their spending in some degree in recent years, these summer tours have got allowed the club to market the brand across the globe while allowing a percentage of the enormous worldwide fanbase to see their heroes with the flesh.

This tour is the longest in the case of distance travelled in the history of Manchester United, pumping last year's 22, 000-mile circular trip that took around South Africa, China, Norwegian and Sweden.

The departure of Ferguson might sense you are the end of the earth for some fans, but for Moyes and his group, this summer is the start of a world of chance.

Manchester City sack manager Roberto Mancini - Telegraph.co.uk

On Sunday night Mancini was told, by chairman Khaldoon al Mubarak, that his tenure would be terminated, though it was a further 24 hours before the axe fell.

With City's move for Malaga coach Manuel Pellegrini being confirmed in Spain on Friday evening – the eve of the FA Cup final defeat against Wigan Athletic – Mancini had been facing the humiliating prospect of managing the team against Reading at the Madejski Stadium tonight as the club's board failed to make a swift announcement on the Italian's future yesterday.

But after taking training at Queens Park Rangers' Loftus Road yesterday morning, Mancini was informed of his dismissal by City chairman Khaldoon al Mubarak last night on the grounds of his failure "to achieve any of his stated targets this year, with the exception of qualification for next season's Uefa Champions League".

City claimed that the decision to sack Mancini was a result of senior figures having "identified the need to develop a holistic approach to all aspects of football at the club".

Chairman Al Mubarak, the driving force behind Mancini's appointment as successor to Mark Hughes in December 2009, added in his statement his hopes for a "continued friendship" with the Italian, who is now expected to receive offers from AS Roma, Napoli and Monaco.

Ironically, the axe fell on Mancini exactly a year to the day since Sergio Agüero's injury-time winner against QPR on the final day of last season secured the Premier League title for club – City's first league championship since 1968.

Brian Kidd, Sir Alex Ferguson's former assistant at Manchester United, will take charge of the team at the Madejski Stadium tonight and against Norwich City on Sunday after Mancini's staff followed him out of the exit door last night. Kidd will also lead the squad on next week's tour of the United States, where City will play high-profile friendlies against Chelsea in St Louis and New York City.

Having signed a five-year contract worth £7.5 million-a-year last summer, Mancini is expected to receive at least one year's salary in compensation for his dismissal, but he is unlikely to be out of work for long.

Roma, who sacked coached Zdenek Zeman earlier this season, have identified Mancini and Paris Saint-Germain coach Carlo Ancelotti as favoured candidates to become the next permanent manager at Stadio Olimpico.

And with Walter Mazzarri delaying a decision on signing a new contract at Napoli, club president Aurelio de Laurentiis is prepared to offer Mancini a £4 million-a-year deal to move to Naples, the home city of Mancini's wife. Monaco, who courted Mancini last summer, are also interested in Mancini with Claudio Ranieri's future at the club currently uncertain.

Although Mancini's anticipated successor Pellegrini has denied that an agreement is in place with City, the Chilean's representative met with City sporting director Txiki Begiristain in Madrid two weeks ago and it is understood that terms of £3.4 million-a-year have been agreed with the 59-year-old former Real Madrid coach.

But with Malaga's La Liga campaign not due to end until the beginning of June, there was a concern within the City hierarchy that sacking Mancini without a manager in place could create a power vacuum at the club.

Mancini's departure will be welcomed by the club's players, who have endured a fractious relationship with the manager for the past 18 months. High-profile fallouts with captain Vincent Kompany, England goalkeeper Joe Hart and midfielder Samir Nasri have done little to help Mancini's position in the eyes of the board and Begiristain.

The unhappy nature of the squad is one element of the club's decision to part company with Mancini just 12 months into his lucrative contract. But having been set the twin targets of retaining the Premier League title and progressing from the group stages of the Champions League this season, Mancini's fate has ultimately been sealed by his failure to achieve either.

Even before Saturday's FA Cup final defeat against Wigan at Wembley, Mancini was regarded as a lame duck manager by the club's power brokers.

A board meeting at the team hotel on Saturday morning concluded with no show of support or backing for Mancini and the inability of the club's communications department to issue assurances over the manager's future had been a telling aspect of the past four days.

Monday night's statement, issued just before 10.30pm, ultimately explained why the silence from the club had been deafening.

"It is with regret that Manchester City Football Club announces that Roberto Mancini has been relieved of his duties as Manchester City manager," the statement said.

"This has been a difficult decision for the owner, chairman and board to make and it is the outcome of a planned end of season review process that has been brought forward in light of recent speculation and out of respect for Roberto and his extensive contributions to the football club.

"Despite everyone's best efforts, the club has failed to achieve any of its stated targets this year, with the exception of qualification for next season's Uefa Champions League.

"This, combined with an identified need to develop a holistic approach to all aspects of football at the club, has meant that the decision has been taken to find a new manager for the 2013/14 season and beyond.

"Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said: "Roberto's record speaks for itself and he has the respect and gratitude of Sheikh Mansour, myself and the board for all of his hard work and commitment over the last three and a half years.

"He has clearly also secured the love and respect of our fans. He has done as he promised and delivered silverware and success, breaking the club's 35-year trophy drought and securing the title in 2012.

"I would like to personally and publicly thank him for his dedication to the progress that he has overseen and for his support and continued friendship."

Have You Ever Seen An Athlete Commandeer A Cameraman To Show The World He Was Right And The Umpire Was Wrong? A Serbian Tennis Player Did That.

Ernests Gulbis is usually the star of the Tennis Antics Show (we called him the "Roger Federer of quote-giving"), but yesterday, it was his oppoenent, Serb Viktor Troicki, that amused us all. He was convinced that a Gulbis backhand was out, and he checked the mark that the ball left in the clay. The ball had initially been called in, but the chair umpire overruled it. Troicki was 100% convinced that it was in, yet the umpire refused to agree with him. Troicki even brings the camera with him to show us all the mark, which is probably the most dominant move an athlete has ever made over an umpire. It also included the legendary, almost-grammatically-correct line: "You can see it from the space!"

It's hard to tell from the crappy video if the ball was in (and it kind of looks like he's pointing at a different ball, way inside the line?), but it's strange that there's a dispute when there's a mark. Either the mark shows it's in, or it shows that it's out.

Troicki didn't retire and eventually lost the match, 6-1, 6-1. But Troicki was the winner in our hearts, causing the umpire to (probably) take a five-year leave from umpiring to repair his battered psyche. The umpire reportedly ate sixteen McGabagool's With Cheese and flooded his hotel room with tears.

The language Open 2013: Was Andy Murray's Pullout a good Decision?

Environment No. 2 Andy Murray made headlines yesterday, as he withdrew in the second Grand Slam within the season, with a lower-back damage.

He said in a good statement, "It's a really tough decision and I love playing in Paris, but after seeking medical advice I'm sure not fit to compete, " said Murray via ESPN. "Apologies to the organizers and using everyone for the communications of support. Now my complete center is on getting spine on the court asap. "

What's more concerning was what Murray said in Rome last week. He cited that this lower-back injury has been a problem since the 2011 season and was a problem last year on this clay.

This withdrawal is furthermore major because it precisely affects defending champion Rafael Nadal, as he'll be bumped up on the No. 3 seed and often will not face Novak Djokovic and also Roger Federer until at a minimum the semifinals.

The obvious answer is yes when investigating the 2013 season as a whole. First, Murray can sacrifice their last year's result (quarterfinals) in Paris and use defending the more fundamental Wimbledon points and U. S. Open crown.

And after winning the gold medal over the London Olympics at Wimbledon past July, Murray (believe it or not) are going to be facing even more demand to break the 77-year drought lastly become the first Indian male since Fred Perry to help you win Wimbledon. Plus, a lot more he'll come to Wimbledon a good Grand Slam champion, she's expected to win.

The second thing is, rankings aside, Murray has always played better tennis through the June through August times, excelling on the rapidly grass and American very difficult courts. He needs to become healthy during that time because Wimbledon and also the U. S. Open are most likely his top priority designed for 2013. With the pullout, it also proved the amount of Murray values this organ of the tennis season.

On one another hand, besides the elements he'll be forfeiting, he or she is also foregoing his optimum Grand Slam seeding for the reason that 2009 U. S. Offered as No. 2.

Within the last few 10 months, Murray worked as a chef hard to assert himself to be a Grand Slam contender, not really a Masters Series contender and his ranking ensures that effort. With this problem, he could be throwing away his hard work together with giving his competitors a slight edge over him next month with more match up play.

But in the finish, Murray isn't considered their favorite to win at Roland Garros, and therefore, made the right go on to get healthy before the actual test in London comes next month.

The Couple Who Douse Each Other With Beer In The Bleachers Together, Stay Together

No good deed goes unpunished, especially in the bleachers at a Cubs game. As you may have seen by now, a woman doused her husband with beer after he spilled beer on her while protecting her from a home run ball hit by Travis Wood.

Unlike the fake, staged dousing that a guy received from a woman at a Fresno Grizzlies game recently, this one was real, and it was spectacular. WGN-TV caught up with the woman, Ellen Shockley, afterwards. Chicago Tribune:

"If it was not my husband, I would not have done it," Shockley said Monday after the video of the incident went viral.

Ellen and her husband, Tim, who met in the bleachers and have been married since 1992, were at Sunday's Cubs-Mets game when Tim tried to reach over his head for Travis Wood's two-run homer. While doing so, he accidentally spilled a little of his beer onto Ellen.

"My first reaction was 'You (expletive), I'm soaking wet, so now you are going to be soaking wet, too," she said. "But really, I would not have done that to a stranger if that happened. I might have jumped on him."

The video made it on SportsCenter, Good Morning America and other shows. But it's all fun and games until the blog commenters chime in.

But by mid-day, Tim began reading negative comments about Ellen's act of retaliation on some blogs and Internet reports, which he felt crossed the line.

"They were saying things like she needed anger management, or that she was probably a Sox fan," Tim said. "I think they were too hard on her. I thought it was funny. It's not like she shot me. Not that I want to give her any ideas or anything."

Why Alabama vs. Ohio State Is the Dream BCS Title Matchup This Year

The final year of the BCS is approaching with a number of high-profile teams staring down the crystal football. Alabama and Ohio State are the early favorites to land in the game, and having the two powerhouses square off for the title would be a fitting sendoff for the BCS era.

Last year, the Urban Meyer-led Buckeyes went on an impressive undefeated run that would have put them in the national title game if not for NCAA sanctions.

A couple of things make this game the best scenario to end 2013. It matches tradition-rich programs and legendary coaches, and signals the return to prominence of traditional conference powers.

Every season the landscape of the game is layered with opportunities. Players are early favorites for the Heisman, while others are set to become legends with a few more wins.

AJ McCarron has the chance to win a third straight national title. If he does, he will make college football history and become part of the "best-of-all-time" discussion.

Another big draw would be Braxton Miller's Heisman Trophy campaign. He is heading into the year as an early favorite after a strong 2012 season. He is a dangerous dual-threat quarterback who fits well into the Urban Meyer offense.

The Ohio State vs. the SEC will also attract attention. The Buckeyes are 1-2 against the SEC in the BCS  and 0-2 in the title game.

Watching Ohio State try to reverse that trend against the seemingly unbeatable Crimson Tide would drive the media and fans wild.

Merchandise nationwide for the Buckeyes would be hard to find. Pulling for the team that knocks off 'Bama would be enough to drive some fans to the local Foot Locker. A run on Ohio State merchandise would put a dent in inventory and create a shortage of No. 5 jerseys.

Ohio State and Alabama are two of the most tradition-rich programs in college football. Both have laid claim to multiple national titles and are consistent pipelines of talent to the NFL.

Over the years these programs have become the flagships for their respective conferences. Winning championships does that for a program, and this year should be another title run for both of these schools.

Watching these two programs that carry a quarter century of title gold battle for a national title would be a fitting end to the BCS era.

The past few seasons have brought a lot of mid-major conference talk, with teams like Boise State and Northern Illinois working themselves into the BCS discussion. There still hasn't been a mid-major that has made it to the title game, but some will hope that changes this year.

It won't happen, and the country will be happy to see it. The ratings for an Alabama vs. Ohio State matchup would skyrocket past any mix of mid-major schools and BCS automatic qualifier.

The country loves big brand football, and outside of the specific markets of the small schools, the draw is simply not there.

The new playoff system will finally give the smaller schools a legitimate shot at the title, but finishing the BCS era with one final big-name game just fits.

Love them or hate them, watching Urban Meyer and Nick Saban battle it out from the sideline is a matchup made in college football heaven. Two living legends squaring off would be an historic occasion.

Meyer has coached all over the country, but his most memorable work was at Florida. He took Tim Tebow and turned him into a quality quarterback while managing to win two national titles along the way.

Saban has been in the SEC for most of his major college coaching career, and winning titles is a part of his regular schedule.

He has secured four national titles as a head coach, with all four coming from the SEC. He won a title at LSU, in addition to his three at Alabama.

Watching these two walk opposing sidelines would be reminiscent of the Woody Hayes vs. Bo Schembechler or Bear Bryant vs. Shug Jordan showdowns.

That Yankees And Manchester City Are likely to Own An MLS Team In New york, And It Will Have Every one of the Money And All For the Haters.

You most likely don't care about this MLS enough to can't stand a team, unless you might be the Grinch. But now you must, adding New York FC on the list that includes a Miami Heat, Los Angeles Lakers, Big apple Yankees, Dallas Cowboys along with Notre Dame football, involving other overrated, overfunded, oversupported franchises.

The Yankees and a Yankee-esque English Premier League team, Manchester City, are teaming around own New York's new MLS expansion team, that league's 20th franchise. The deal cost $100 million, or even Alex Rodriguez's toenail fused using Carlos Tevez's scar. As per ESPN, "the club expects to get started playing in 2015. "

New york city FC expect to play in an interim home until a permanent stadium was made. The owners are focused on constructing a stadium but will take up negotiations with the city. Whether their focus now shifts within the 13-acre plot of that Flushing Meadows-Corona Park in Queens remains to be seen. Ferran Soriano discussed: "We are very alert to the Queens negotiation. Marriage ceremony about finding a ground. This is about finding a home that is successful from a financial, and soccer perspective in addition to a community perspective. "

This club will have all of the pounds, all of that dollars, and all in the dirhams. The MLS's current principles only allow three really expensive players to remain signed, though, so The big apple FC won't be like hated as you'd believe, unless that rule shifts.

Also: we notified you earlier of the fact that recently-retired David Beckham may have an ownership role in the New York MLS power team, so perhaps he'll be induced in a Jay-Z-esque purpose.

As an American (and a brand new Yorker), I think it's cool. But if one thinks this puts the MULTIPLE LISTING SERVICE within 19 stratospheres of leagues similar to the Bundesliga, La Liga, the Premier League, or every other high-class soccer league, you will be dumber than Ryan Lochte. Hopefully you're not dumber as opposed to Ryan Lochte.

Mosley vs. Cano: Sugar Shane Should Call It Quits After Ending Losing Streak

After being winless for the past four years, Shane Mosley was finally able to end the streak on Saturday night against Cesar Cano.

After such a difficult stretch of fights, Sugar Shane needs to finally retire and end his career on somewhat of a high note.

At 41 years old, his best boxing years are certainly behind him. He has a respectable career record of 47-8-1 with 39 knockouts, but the recent winless streak put a blemish on a successful career. If he continues trying to fight, that record will continue to look worse and worse.

Even in the fight against Cano, who is a relatively average fighter, Mosley had his struggles. Even though he was able to win this fight by unanimous decision, there were times in the fight where Mosley seemed to be staggered.

"The last few fights I lost because of injuries, but I'm well," said the 41-year-old Mosley (46-8-1, 39 KOs) after the weigh-in. "My body tells me I'm well, so we are still going to be doing this for a while. Cano is a tough fighter, but I shouldn't have any problems beating him and being on my way to win a world title."

If Mosley is now having trouble with mediocre competition, how can he expect to continue fighting at a high level like he used to?

Back in the day, Sugar Shane was one of the best fighters in the world. He held titles in three weight divisions, holding the IBF Lightweight, WBC Welterweight, WBA Welterweight and several other Championships. He started his career with 38 consecutive wins before falling to Vernon Forrest in 2002. He has two big wins in his career against the great Oscar De La Hoya.

Now, it's pretty clear that Sugar Shane can't keep up with the competition. He's lost unanimous decisions to both Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather, Jr. since 2010, and it's pretty obvious that he's unable to pull off an upset against any solid fighter at this point in his career.

Coming out of retirement for a fight is nice, but now Mosley has the opportunity to end his career officially with a win. Not every fighter can say that, and it would do a lot to keep a positive reputation on one of the better fighters of this generation.

Virginia's School of 2014 Is Filled; Can UVa and Va Tech Keep It around State?

This 2014 class of football recruits in the state of Virginia is arguably the top ever. Led by the No. 1 overall prospect in the united kingdom, Da'Shawn Hand of Woodbridge, the state boasts three of the top 10 players overall, according to 247Sports.

Unfortunately for Va Tech and Virginia, you will find many nation's top schools have noticed the unusually advanced of talent in a Old Dominion State.

Mike London's future at Virginia might dependent on how well he continues to recruit within the state. In a year just like 2014, London has enable you to stock his talent-deficient roster with several top-rated players. London can offer these players something the majority of the top schools can't—the possibility to play as true freshmen.

Legendary Virginia Tech scalp coach Frank Beamer's job is not in jeopardy, nor have to it be. However, with each passing season he is getting further away from filling that empty trophy case over the school's campus.

In 2013, that state's top two players, Orlando Hackenberg and Jonathan Allen, bolted Va for Penn State along with Alabama, respectively. In the recent past, Michigan, North Carolina together with Stanford, in particular, have consistently raided Virginia to your advantage talent. London and Beamer can't afford to work out this happen again.

Derrick Earth-friendly, the state's No. 5-ranked participant in 2013, signed with Michigan around February and didn't need the Hokies or Cavaliers in his final three. The Hokies have got long had a culture of signing the state's prime running backs.

Both schools got a young jump on the Category of 2014. The Cavaliers landed a commitment from 5-star safety Quin Blanding of Virginia Beach, and the Hokies received dedication from 4-star running back Marshawn Williams associated with Hampton. The No. 9 player within the state, offensive lineman Steven Moss, also dedicated to Virginia.

? Hand, the state's precious recruit, is a 6'5", 245-pound sheltering end who currently has offers from 39 schools, including that Cavs and Hokies. Hand's measurements, athleticism and overall game are reminiscent of 2011's top high school player, Jadeveon Clowney.

Competition to sign Hand is going to be fierce. As noted as a result of 247Sports, Hand has talked about that Michigan, Alabama and a few other schools are "warm, inches but Hokies' defensive advisor Bud Foster is their favorite recruiter.

While Hand is simply not seriously considering Virginia, you cannot assume all is lost for a Cavaliers. The state's Simply no. 2 ranked player, defensive tackle Andrew Brown of Chesapeake, has the Cavaliers as one involving his favorites. 247Sports has Brown for the nation's No. 4 overall prospective client.

If Virginia lands Brown lightly, that would be three of the top 10 players in the state for Cavaliers, giving them arguably their finest recruiting class at this moment. The 1989 class boasting Terry Kirby and Chris Slade is tough to help you beat.

With so much premier talent with the state in 2014, do the Hokies and Cavaliers possess a legitimate shot at keeping most in state?

In days gone by several years, the state's best talent often went everywhere else. In 2006, Percy Harvin of Va Beach was the top-ranked player inside the Commonwealth. Harvin chose to wait the University of Georgia. The Hokies or Cavaliers weren't quite possibly in Harvin's final a few.

While the Cavaliers are off to a good beginning for 2014, will it be all you need to save London's employment? In three seasons from Virginia, London has a standard record of 16-21. He has one 8-5 season sandwiched concerning two 4-8 campaigns.

The good programs keep the best talent in state. Miami built its program in the 1980s by keeping the top players home. Sure, The state of alabama doesn't build its roster by using only homegrown talent; nonetheless, they rarely let the most effective players in the declare leave.

Texas is perennially one of many top programs in the country. Its spring roster included just 12 players with the outside the state. Since Mack Brown required over as head coach in the Longhorns in 1998, he made signing the most notable players in Texas important each season. He has competed designed for national titles and kept Texas with the top 25 for the better the main last 15 years as a result of prioritizing in-state talent.

Beamer has often resisted change with his offensive coaching staff for many years. However, after a mediocre 2012 season the location where the Hokies finished 7-6, their worst record in two decades, Beamer finally made adjustments to his staff. Was it panic, or did Beamer truly feel it was eventually time for a shift? Nonetheless, the timing had been interesting.

The Hokies' ongoing athletic director, Jim Weaver, is set to retire afre the wedding of 2015. Does Beamer feel the pressure to win today before Weaver leaves their post? A new athletic director will not feel the same faithfulness to Beamer that Weaver will.

Firing Beamer is out of your question—he built the program—but wouldn't it be outside the realm of possibility for the new administration to force Beamer into a young retirement?

In assessing a final 10 years of prospecting data for Virginia's top notch 25 players, Virginia Technical has scored well. The Hokies have averaged signing nine within the top 25 per year. The Cavaliers, on the other hand, have averaged basically over five per year or so.

The "757, " also called the Tidewater region involving Virginia, is the state's a lot of fertile recruiting ground, as well as the Hokies have traditionally fared properly there. But since United kingdom assumed the reins with Charlottesville, the momentum has shifted rather.

London and his top notch recruiter, Chip West, both hail from Hampton and have an excellent reputation with high school coaches in the market.

As the 2013 year or so gets closer, look for more head coaches, such as Nick Saban and Brady Hoke, to make frequent visits to hawaii. A head coach often stays right out of the recruiting process until the end, unless the player possesses elite talent. The status of Virginia has several elite talents in 2014.

Can the Hokies and Cavaliers both sign double-digit amounts of players from within their state in 2014? The Cavaliers look primed to accomplish this. The Hokies, however, are working on specific players, such like Hand and defensive end Jalyn Holmes associated with Virginia Beach.

Over the past several years the Hokies have focused on other states such as New york, Georgia and Florida. Together with the recent influx of talent over the home front, perhaps they'd be wise to get additional involved with the uncommitted players in their own state in 2014.

2014 may well be a make-or-break year for either schools for different motives. If the Cavaliers may well sign a top-10 school, London likely buys himself a few more years at the helm within the Cavaliers. Beamer likely cares about it chiefly about landing Side. If he can, it would the first time in school history the college signed 5-star recruits around successive seasons.

The battle for recruiting supremacy inside the state of Virginia can be fun to watch yearly nine months. Sadly with regard to Beamer and London, they are competing with coaches from over the entire country.

Will the Class of 2014 pay close attention to what was a severe 2012 for both universities? If so, Saban will be smiling again next February despite the fact that London and Beamer ponder what might have been.

Nate Diaz Excellent and Suspension: Did that Punishment Fit the Criminal offense?

It's only a matter of time before the UFC behaved. No reference to that Urban Dictionary or what the slur means in Diaz's world would definitely prevent the UFC from handing down attaining some sort of punishment.

On Friday event the promotion acted, suspending Diaz ninety days and fining him $20, 000. This fine, according to the UFC's statement relating to the matter will be donated to be able to charity.

Let's get the suspension straightened out first because that's a hassle-free one to tackle. A 90-day suspension in a fighter that last stepped within the Octagon on April 20 and additionally received a 60-day medical suspension following that fight is pretty toothless. It looks good in some recoverable format, but the reality can be that Diaz was almost certainly not going to fight this 90 days and in the event that he was it was going to be at the tail end of those 90 days.

Now your fine, that's another report. $20, 000 for a fighter that pulled in $15, 000 in his last fight is often a huge chunk of modify. If you don't acknowledge, please keep in head that NBA superstar Kobe Bryant, who pulls down a lot more than $300, 000 a performance was fined $100, 000 for ones same slur in 2011. Diaz would notice that $20, 000 missing from his pay above Kobe missed his $100, 000.

Diaz will possibly not have meant the word for a homophobic slur, but that doesn't excuse the reality that he used it. Being professional athlete he represents his employer, the UFC, an employer that could be still fighting to generate inroads in states where the sport is not genuine. The UFC doesn't need to have fighters handing ammunition to help you its detractors, something Diaz would when he hit "send" concerning that tweet.

Comparing the fine Diaz received on the one Bryant received; the punishment may be viewed as too serious. Don't think that's an error. The UFC needed to send a transparent message to all associated with its fighters: Step outside of the bounds of the code of conduct and the punishment will be swift and severe.

The UFC has drawn a line inside the sand with Diaz's excellent and suspension; expect all fighters to prize the severity of your punishment.

For those of you that could say "worse things have been said in past times, " please don't work with that argument. Those were the old days, prior to the authored code of conduct. That was before the UFC joined other major professional sports in having such a code of conduct. Beneficial financial old days are finished, it's a brave " new world ", and missteps are travelling to cost fighters time together with money.

Was Nate Diaz used as an example by the UFC? Probably, but someone had to serve as the fall guy. Let's hope the rest of the UFC roster took notice and that this can be the last time we're all discussing ideas an easily avoidable condition.

The Daily Yam: Kawhi Leonard Throws Down The Understated Jam On Harrison Barnes

Welcome to The Daily Yam, bringing you the top play from the night before, anything else you might have missed, and what to look forward to today. It's your one-stop shop when you skipped last night's action, or have forgotten what day it is. Last night, on the break, Kawhi Leonard put it down relatively peacefully on Harrison Barnes.

As in-your-face-yammers go, this one was quite serene. Barnes didn't have the angle, elevation or timing to block this one — Leonard just had to go up and place the ball in the basket. It still got the message across, however, and count for two points.

The Knicks played like a combination of garbage and sweaty socks, getting beat handily by the Pacers 93-82; the Pens beat the Sens 4-1 at home; the Kings shut out the Sharks 2-0.

ESPN Wants To Create A Late-Night Talk Show, And Made A Run At Seth Meyers

As you know, Seth Meyers is taking over the 12:30 p.m. talk show slot from Jimmy Fallon next year, when Fallon moves in to take over The Tonight Show. But Meyers, currently the head writer and Weekend News anchor on SNL, had another talk show offer to mull before saying yes to NBC (and who says yes to NBC without thinking it over, hard?). That offer came from ESPN.

Yep, ESPN wants to get into the late-night talk show business, and Meyers was the network's first choice. He said no, according to Jason McIntyre of The Big Lead, who talked with ESPN president John Skipper about it recently. Meyers was reportedly interested, but preferred the NBC job. But the bigger news is, ESPN is going to do a talk show?

The network gets big ratings with sports programming, and SportsCenter. And after the 11 p.m. SportsCenter … it's a rerun of SportsCenter. So why not a late-night talk show? How hard could it be to pull that off?

Very hard. Just ask Arsenio Hall, Chevy Chase, Pat Sajak, Joey Bishop, Alan Thicke, Joe Namath, Magic Johnson … you get the idea. Even Conan O'Brien got clobbered in the ratings when he first started at NBC, but the network kept him around out of stubbornness until things improved.

My first thought is that ESPN should try something new: the talk show in its present form has been around forever (I believe Aristotle hosted the first one) without much of a makeover. But absent that, this could work … with the right host. Here are our suggestions:

Lang Whitaker Bulls cut it to 9 on a 3 from Nate, and Joakim Noah got T'd up after getting mixed up with Battier on the rebound. #AmexNBA

Tottenham Hotspur vs. Sunderland: Premier League Live Score, Highlights, Recap

Beat Sunderland and, with a little good luck elsewhere, they will finish in fourth place and enter the qualifying stage of the 2013-14 Champions League.

The specter of Arsenal's game versus Newcastle United will be hanging over White Hart Lane on Sunday. Just like last year, a win on the road for the Gunners will see them finish above their North London rivals.

On that occasion, Spurs won their final match against Fulham, but they still lost out on third place after Arsenal comfortably dispatched West Bromwich Albion. With Chelsea winning the Champions League a week later, the Blues took Spurs' place in the competition for the following year.

The situation is not much simpler this season. With both Sunderland and Newcastle United safe from relegation, they might not be fighting for their lives, but they may be battling to avoid accusations of not trying.

"We have to win and it's not that straight forward," he told his club's official website. "The ingredients of the game are dangerous. We have to be aware. We have to focus on our task."

It is impossible to know which version of Paolo Di Canio's suitably unpredictable Sunderland side will turn up. Spurs cannot rely on it being the lazy Black Cats, and they will have to work hard to avoid Sunday becoming a needlessly tense affair.

Aiding those attempts should be an almost fully fit squad for Villas-Boas to choose from. Benoit Assou-Ekotto is fit again after missing the Stoke City win with a knee injury. Only long-term absentees Sandro, Younes Kaboul and William Gallas are unavailable.

Sunderland will have to make do without the ineligible Danny Rose, who, as of last Monday, has returned to his parent club. Craig Gardner and Stephane Sessegnon are also unavailable because of suspension, though Connor Wickham is available.

Tottenham came away from the Stadium of Light with all three points when they beat 2-1 Sunderland in both club's final game of 2012. Aaron Lennon scored a second-half winner shortly after a Carlos Cuellar own goal put Spurs level following John O'Shea's opener.

Rome Masters 2013 Results: Most significant Surprises from Late-Round Measures.

Within the final tune-up before that 2013 French Open, the Rome Masters has brought with it a ton of surprises and twists even as head toward final-round stage.

We've seen everything from world-class players still dropping to emerging stars applying more impressive wins on their resume, and it's definately not over in this hotly-contested tournament.

The top-ranked tennis player globally doesn't usually get bounced inside quarterfinal of any tournament, much less a three-set one such as the Rome Masters.

Major 6-2, 5-2 with one game left at probably his easiest victories nevertheless, Djokovic completely lost concentrate and folded. Berdych stormed back in take the second establish and finished out the third and conclusive set to knock the entire world No. 1 player out.

Things will likely go a small amount different in Paris next weekend for the reason that five-set scenario often causes it to become more difficult for elite players to get down. But it can't be a good sign which Djokovic is heading towards the year's second Grand Slam tournament which has a glaring loss.

Murray backed out of action for the Rome Masters before her opening match, admitting this disc pain in his back has gotten much too bad to play with. His back troubles ended up being well-documented last season as he's played through the injury for some 1 . 5 years.

According to the Guardian, Murray said he'd end up "very surprised" to play at Paris this weekend to open the This particular language Open.

Murray wouldn't have recently been the favorite over manufacturers like Rafael Nadal in Paris. But for one for the sport's toughest players, who has battled this injury for some time while winning the Oughout. S. Open and Olympic gold, it's nothing less as compared to surprising.

It's hard to believe any time you hear about Roger Federer trying to win a tournament for to begin with. He's won seemingly every event it is possible to win.

But he's for no reason raised the trophy with Rome's clay courts, and this year has to be huge year to do so.

Federer is for the favorable side of this bracket heading into his quarterfinal match and allows only lost six matches through his past a few matches. He's clearly for the hot streak and may likely play clay-court king Nadal inside final.

A win over Nadal to seize his first victory within the Rome Masters might be a huge stepping stone heading in the French Open, which is famously played on very much the same clay courts and which Nadal famously wins 365 days in and year available.

MLB Trade Speculation: All 30 Teams' Biggest Need at the One-Quarter Mark

The Baltimore Orioles finished the first quarter six games above .500, and they did it in spite of an almost automatic out in their batting order and an ace for their rotation.

Designated hitters for the Orioles produced a woeful .148/.244/.244 slash line with just three home runs. The biggest culprits were Steve Pearce (.167) and Nolan Reimold (.143).

At some point soon it should be expected that vice president of baseball operations Dan Duquette will be addressing that issues.

In addition, the Orioles starting rotation posted a not-so stellar 4.68 ERA in the first quarter. Wei-Yin Chen has been placed on the disabled list with an oblique strain.

Sources: Jurrjens will make #Orioles debut Saturday against #Rays. 3.14 ERA in 8 starts at AAA, 36 Ks, 15 BBs, 2 HRs allowed in 51 2/3 IP.

While Jurrjens might help in the short-term, Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com is reporting that the O's are looking for a more viable long-term solution.

The Orioles miraculously won a wild-card berth without a top-of-the-rotation starter last season but apparently would feel a whole lot better if they can acquire one, possibly from their minor-league ranks but more likely via trade. There's no guarantee any top starters will become available via trade, as even the early speculation surrounds pitching stars who aren't free agents after the year, such as R.A. Dickey, Cliff Lee, David Price and Jake Peavy, meaning there's nothing that would necessarily compel their current teams to trade them.

Prospects like Dylan Bundy and Kevin Gausman aren't going anywhere, but the Orioles do have attractive pieces in their farm system should the right match be found.
