An unpopular goal almost came when Gylfi Sigurdsson, building his first Liberty get back since leaving Swansea last summer, cut inside onto his right foot to focus on the far post with a curling attempt. But Vorm, no doubt having seen the ploy in instruction, went early to punch away together with his fist and comfortably kept Bale's follow-up header. Michu met Tiendalli's combination to put a header two meters wide and it did not seem as though it was going to function as big Spaniard's day. However substitute Ki Sung-Yueng swung over a corner and Michu evaluated the flight of the ball better than Dawson to create a grandstand finish. Even then, however, Bale very nearly had the last word when he intercepted an unhealthy Pablo Hernandez pass and trigger on a 60-yard run which ended with him reaching the beyond the post. Swansea breathed a huge sigh of relief a' but it'd have already been an incredible end to a busy week for Bale had it gone in.
