Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic qualified by AC Milan - City

Manchester United leader Nemanja Vidic has emerged as a summer transfer goal for AC Milan. The Serbian, 31, is entering the final year of his contract and, after offering in mere 18 of Unitedas 44 matches in 2010, director Sir Alex Ferguson could possibly be persuaded to offer, according to Goal.com. Vidic has been at Old Trafford for seven years but has been hit by injuries this time, and was left on the bench towards Jonny Evans in Unitedas Champions League conflict at Real Madrid earlier this month. But, Milan think he will be the perfect central-defensive companion for Philippe Mexes, who has struggled without Thiago Silva who left for Paris Saint Germain last summer. The Italian side are building a conscious effort never to pursue targets over 25-years-old, but may make an to land someone of the calibre of Vidic. Milan path leaders Juventus by 11 factors in Serie A and seem certain to enhance their leaky defence once the exchange window re-opens.
