TVACHEF Tom Aikens has provided masterclass to a cooking to youngsters at New Kingas Road Primary School in Fulham. He teamed up with School Food Matters, a charity which promotes cooking in schools and encourages people to prepare simple and nutritionally beneficial foods Speaking following the session, Michelin star champion Mr Aikens said: aI enjoy cooking with pupils and showing them the fun and healthy side of cooking. Eating a well-balanced diet is important with their age bracket and I am hoping they'll be encouraged to really make the recipes again at home.a Associate headteacher Clare James said: aWe were honoured to host this School Food Matters occasion as we have an actual responsibility to our kiddies eating a daily healthy meal and identifying the results of food and exercise on fitness. Having this type of skilled function model as a cookery session to be led by Tom was an amazing experience for the children.a Mary is showing on BBC2 all week in the finals of the Great British Menu.
