Gill a the vice-chairman of the FA a declared his decision in a club record today. The 55-year-old reached Old Trafford in 1997 and was offered to his current position in 2003. He will stick to as a United director and executive vice chairman Ed Woodward will dominate as CEO. United manager Fergie: aDavid is a huge spectacular leader. aOf class, we have had a million arguments, but I have always enjoyed them because I know that David has two great qualities: he is directly and he always sets Manchester United first. aNo difference is actually individual with him. He always needs the best for United, whether itas the players, it ground or the staff. aHim moving down is a large loss to me but the fact that he's keeping on the board encourages me that the explanation for his departure is heartfelt, that he believes it's time for the membership to move on. aIf I might have found a means of persuading him to keep I would like to have done that.
