The Unlikely Comparison: The Detroit Red Wings & Real Madrid - Winging It In Motown

So you may be thinking about, what do a 32 time winner of the La Liga and an time winner of the Stanley Cup have commonly? During their immense success, they have both been forced to overcome great adversity. While Madrid has is now right back on top and overcome this period of achievement, the Wings are currently at this juncture where they'll have to continue their tournament type or they will fall right into a decade of fear, sorrow, and distress. In order to fully understand what I'm looking to get across, one should look back once again to the 17th of December, 2008. Real Madrid was down to a disappointing start (inside their terms) and wished to reinforce their team in the future exchange window. As a result of some incidents in the midfield, Madrid chose to signal Lassana Diara from Portsmouth Hamilton Academical. Diara was a reasonably new person in the large world of sports but he'd seen time with the French national group and was considered to be an up and coming probability by many. For those of you who do not know, Real Madrid, along with teams like Barcelona, Manchester United, Chelsea and Bayern Munich, just sign the best of the best players. Because of this, writers and many fans were confused by the fact that Madrid chose to generate "Lass", as he is called, to fill out such a huge gap on their midfield. One correspondent said that it was the absolute most non-Madrid like signing that he'd ever seen in his time within the group. Where we transfer our attention from Spanish football back once again to tennis that is. Coming off last periods disappointing playoff loss to the Nashville Predators, the Detroit Red Wings were sitting in a awkward position. Not just had they been eliminated in the first round of the playoffs, nevertheless now two of their finest defenseman were on the verge of leaving. Sure enough, Nicklas Lidstrom retired and Brad Stuart returned to San Jose. In order to fill the gap created by the increased loss of the two defenseman and forward Jiri Hudler, Wings supporters started scheming up ways in which the group would maybe be able to make a run after the most effective free providers, defenseman Ryan Suter and forward Zach Parise. After days of hoping, thinking and organizing, July 1st rolled around and Wings supporters were delighted. Early symptoms stated that the Wings were one of the front runners for both people. However, by the time the sun set, Zach Parise and Ryan Suter remained unsigned while the Wings had brought in Jonas Gustavsson, Jordin Tootoo, and Mikael Samuelsson. Because the days continued desire turned to dismay as Suter and Parise closed mega-deals with the Minnesota Wild. Weeks passed and as a lockout looked just like a genuine possibility, the Detroit Red Wings still hadn't earned a defenseman to complete the huge voids left by Lidstrom and Stuart. The Wings closed former Blues defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo, 3 days before the NHL locked out their players. So, what is the purpose of of the? To fully understand what I am trying to get across one must take a look at the existing Real Madrid team. A group that features stars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Mesut Ozil, Sami Khedira, and Karim Benzema, every one of whom have now been introduced since 2009. Last period, Real Madrid won the Manhattan project Liga for initially in 4 years. This was big, after decades of mediocrity and watching Lionel Messi and Barcelona hightail it with the title, Real Madrid was finally right back on top. What I'm hoping is that the existing Wings team is much like the '08-'09 Real Madrid team, a team filled up with average role-players and a that played below its own expectations. If that's true and history were to repeat itself, then next couple of years the Wings might go back to their title winning type, just like Madrid has done. As proven to us by Real Madrid, there is always new risk, and ideally this push in the street will undoubtedly be just as brief for the Detroit Red Wings because it was for Madrid. So, would you people accept me or am I entirely barking up the incorrect tree? Keep a comment and I would like to know!

This game could have been the hangover game on the trunk of a frustrating European leave but Dembele`s last minute goal at Lyon will dsicover Spurs arrive at the Hammers Boleyn Road Stadium with an alternative mind-set from what it could have been. At this stage of the summer season 3 points from games like they're the minimum requirement.. AVB is going to be facing Sam Allardyce's so called long-ball stores. The long ball league is just a fact that is not stated that much but West Ham actually play as numerous long balls as Barcelona and Real Madrid? Liverpool, that are allowed to be using the short passing game to a different level under Brendan Rodgers, common 66 long balls every match. They're the average number of long balls played, on average, this season by the groups who concluded in the utmost effective four: Champions Manchester City (54), Manchester United (56), Arsenal (49), Tottenham (61). As for the rest of the Premier League; Newcastle (78), Everton (69), Reading (67), Wigan (67), Chelsea (65) Fulham (64), West Bromwich (64), Aston Villa (62), Sunderland (62), Norwich (60), QPR (59), Stoke (59), Swansea (55) and Southampton (51). Allardyce has a specific process in place made to search for the resistance and take advantage of groups who wish to play The Beautiful Game, but play it poorly. The idea that Allardyce requires teaching at Chadwell Heath each day with full-backs releasing unlimited long balls towards Andy Carroll or Carlton Cole is just a fantasy however. At the start of the week, Allardye`s Coaches just take instruction and Allardyce has feedback from the sidelines. They play small-sided, passing and pressing games to take time from the people and place them under great pressure. As they build-up towards matchday, Allardyce`s part becomes more prominent and he is heavily involved on the training pitches. On Friday and Thursday, like the majority of clubs across the country, they training set-pieces ahead of a Saturday fixture. Perhaps then, for a group labeled 'long ball`, they have gained only 50 per cent of their aerial duels this year. Allardyce has been prickly about the allegations that his teams know just one method to play, but he has adjusted to the requirements of modern soccer. Occasionally it might be kicked by them long, but on Monday evening they might just join the culture club. Both teams fulfill at Upton Park and Hammers chiefs don't wish to see a repeat of the scenes that killed the team at White Hart Lane earlier in the day in 2010. A zero tolerance will be taken by west Ham to Spurs supporters are taunted by fans who with anti-semitic punishment on Monday. A message will take the matchday plan warning fans to behave and the east London membership will fall hard on anyone caught causing trouble. Spurs fans were focused by anti-semitic thugs in Lyon on Wednesday night, and were also infected by Lazio fans in Rome last November. Off the pitch there are rumblings about large Sam his agreement leads to the summer going. West Ham co-owner David Gold contends there's no job for Paolo Di Canio at Upton Park and which they intend to open discussions with recent director Sam Allardyce over a brand new offer. Nevertheless, The Italian is a cult hero with Hammers fans from his playing days at the club and an element of fans, disappointed with Allardyce`s design of soccer, want to see DiCanio as boss. But, Wet Spam are in 11th position, 6 points above 18th put Reading, only twice have the three endorsed clubs from the prior period lasted relegation. Reading and QPR happen to be in the dog fight and West Hams recent type indicate that they could also be dragged in. It`s difficult to gauge the Hammers side, James Collins might make his return from the hamstring harm against Spurs on Monday evening? The Hammers went down to Dubai for many sun but Collins didn`t join them instead the defense stayed behind to continue taking care of his exercise. Errors have been made by Collins, he had admit this, but with The Hammers in need of getting some points on the table to get rid of any worrying relegation concerns having the Welsh internationals knowledge to call upon in defence may help. Given the up and coming features we confront 3 points will undoubtedly be very welcome. It'll be fascinating to see, if Andy Carroll is in the medial side, that are two CB`s will be. Will Kaboul be utilized? Mousa Dembele seems like he have been deserted by his form and we want someone to boss the middle of the park. Will AVB perform Ade up front with Holtby just behind or will Dempsey be in the hole? What would be your chosen selection? Chelsea FC a' Fernando Torres Is not the Only Issue - Sportige

There are certainly a few factors to Chelsea not really living up to the preseason objectives, that go beyond the fact that it was in less than ideal thinking by Roman Abramovich and others when building the team, but Fernando Torres and strikers in general not scoring goals seems to be normally the one. While Chelsea are minute in the category this year with 55 goals, only 10 of them came from their strikers. League goals have been scored only 7 by fernando Torres, the always disappointingAA50 million man, on 23 starts and four more shows coming off the bench. He began rather well, but a league goal was scored by hasnat since December. And beyond Torres? Only two more goals. Roberto Di Matteo and Rafa Benitez didnat really count on Daniel Sturrdige, who had been also injured early in the season. He answered with only one purpose, as all season has been played with one striker in the lineup by Chelsea, and until Demba Ba came, only one in the squad. Demba Ba has started four times to date and coming two more off the table. He's only one goal. Frank Lampard (11 goals) and Juan Mata (10 goals) have obtained significantly more than all the strikers combined. Chelsea have a very remarkable targeting midfield to provide, but having a closer look at the distribution of these moving -Acompleting 454 short, 60 long, 22 Cross and only one through move per game, you can view why, probably, strikers arenat doing so well. There while with Torres, additionally you know it's a to do with his off the ball movement, which has lacked range as his confidence continues to break, is not a lot of concentrate on them. Not all is bad for Chelsea a' usually they wouldnat be at third. Their security is tied for second most readily useful in the Premier League, letting 30 goals in 27 matches, with Arsenal tied and Manchester City the only real club superior (24 goals conceded). Still, perhaps not seeing a striker report just one goal in February means issues, separately and the system of play, arenat quite right. The productivity of their protection, 9 objectives, is tied using what their strikers are going for.

Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez May Find Birmingham United Problem Waiting... - NESN.com

You canat always get what you want, particularly if you play for Manchester United. Javier aChicharitoa HernandezAis discouraged playing third fiddle behindAWayne RooneyAand present Premier League goal-scoring leaderARobin Van Persie. Hernandez voiced his unhappiness with United managerASir Alex FergusonasAdecision to stay Rooney and Van Persie in big-game conditions. True Madrid is monitoring the situation having an eye toward signing the negative Mexican striker, based on the Mirror. To his credit, Hernandez has found the net 15 times in just 26 performances with United this season, establishing herself as one of the marquee goal scorers in England. AHowever, the young attacker is still hungry for more playing time. Perhaps a move to the Bernabeu, where Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho and organization have maintained an eye on Hernandezas developing discomfort, would satiate Hernandezas desire for more minutes? It probably wouldnat. True Madrid already includes a pair of world-class strikers in Gonzalo HiguaAn and Karim Benzema a the teamas top two scorers behind some guy called Cristiano Ronaldo a' therefore it seems that Hernandez would likely encounter the same situation he presently faces in Manchester. Borussia Monchengladbach v Borussia Dortmund Betting Preview ...

BORUSSIA MONCHENGLADBACH v BORUSSIA DORTMUNDFootball : Germany : BundesligaSunday, 24th February 2013 - Kickoff 2:30pm GMT

This may look a walkover for Dortmund based on that last win, and the fact they won the reverse 5-0 at home. The last 2 meetings have been won 5-0 and 2-0, but you'll notice the last 2 trips here have seen them only draw 1-1 and lose 1-0. Monchengladbach are going to give them a fight here.

There is of course the concern that Dortmund will be distracted with the Champions League. They drew 2-2 at Donestsk but before that tie were so distracted they had a man sent off at home and lost to Hamburg 4-1!! They won't lose like that here, but you have to wonder where their heads will be before a massive game against Shakhtar.

Monchengladbach have won their last 3 home games, so won't roll over at all, especially since they will badly want revenge for that 5-0 loss, their heaviest defeat of the season. The worry is their defence, which has allowed 33 goals through 22 games, ruining the good work done by the offence, which has scored 31. That 33 goals is already more than they conceded last season, but then Dortmund don't exactly come here with a brilliant defence, as the 26 they have shipped is also already more than last season's total allowed.

Spurs anxiety no one - Dembele - Clubcall

Moussa Dembele claims Tottenham don't fear every other staff while they target the Europa League and a fourth-place Premier League finish. The Belgium international served Andre Villas-Boas' area secure a League last-16 double-header against Inter Milan with a leveller in Lyon on Thursday to seal a 3-2 mixture win.And his interest has become turning to Monday night's Premier League London derby at West Ham with fourth-placed Spurs seeking the gain to restore the four-point lead over competitors Arsenal in front of next weekend's north London showdown at White Hart Lane.Spurs blew a lead over the Gunners last time to wind up missing out on third place and consequently Champions League certification when Chelsea won the prize against Bayern Munich in May which meant next place wasn't great enough. However, Dembele seems Spurs are another proposition today and he claims their unbeaten group function stretching back to December proves they are brimming with confidence."We do not have to fear any team," said Dembele."People have value for people. If you are in a winning mood it is important in the league."We have two more very important games coming up in the group so the confidence will remain high and that is great for us."On the Hammers journey, he added: "It will be described as a real game, for sure, but we're used to it and this is a particular match for us and the followers also since it is a derby."Punters will use their free bet to back Spurs to end the season in the top four and put the Europa League trophy to the White Hart Lane trophy case.

FC Barcelona's Next Opposition: Sevilla FC (Manhattan project Liga Scouting Survey) - Barca Blaugranes (weblog)

A difficult stretch is continued by barcelona, having very little time to dwell on the shocking loss to AC Milan in the Champions League. Sevilla certainly are a strong opponent, having bothered Barca and overwhelmed Real Madrid in Andalusia, but they don't have a very good absent report. FC Barcelona saved their worst performance of the growing season for the worst possible time, dropping 2-0 to AC Milan. Nevertheless the plan waits for no-one, and you will find important suits to be performed in the category and in the glass against Sevilla and Real Madrid. Sevilla themselves are wary of a midweek glass match in four days as they try to return a loss against Atletico p Madird. The Sevillistas will go back to their property castle, the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium, and try to find the right cause progress to the cup final to meet up either Real Madrid or Barcelona. Los Rojiblancos are an important group in Spanish football record, having won the league once and the Copa del Rey five times. In 2009-10, Sevilla became the initial team to remove a Guardiola team from any competition. After whipping Barca on absent goals, Los Rojiblancos went on to claim the pot themselves. In 2005-06 and 2006-07, Sevilla made record winning the UEFA Cup twice in a line. The 2006 Super Cup was also claimed by them, well beating Barcelona 3-0. With both groups trying to probably more important contests in the cup, who will have the emotional fortitude, as well as the group degree, to get the three points? Sort Sevilla come in decent type, inspite of the reduction in the cup. In fact, they've acquired all of their last six games except two - and these two were away to Atletico Madrid and away to Real Madrid. It is quite difficult for just about any group to have these benefits. In all other games, they've outscored competitors 12-2. Remarkable, but there is one warning. All those matches were at home, and there's no staff in La Liga whose quality suffers away from their turf as much as they do. Sevilla have won one match away, compared to the ten wins at home in the group. Barcelona stay undefeated in the home across all tournaments, while Sevilla have not won away in eight category away matches. Sevilla have also admitted at least two goals in eight of their past eight away matches, while Barcelona have obtained four or maybe more in four of the past five house matches. Essential People Alvaro Negredo continues to attract attention from big clubs across Europe, as he again spearheads Sevilla's attack. With 10 group targets, Negredo is tied for eighth in the La Liga score maps. Ivan Rakitic is the playmaker, and the Croatian global has racked up six assists in the league, first on the team. While he's also first in the main element goes stat with 2.8 per sport, his five objectives are 2nd to Negredo Jesus Navas has made his mark with the Spanish national team (he initiated the attack that led to Andres Iniesta's World Cup winning goal) and ergo drawn contract offers from all across Europe. Nevertheless, he may never abandon Andalusia as he is suffering from severe homesickness. Whatever the case, the winger remains a vital motor of Los Rojiblancos. With three helps and three targets, Navas is another person to watch. In safety, Emir Spahic and Cicinho have started to acquire plaudits. Spahic is powerful in the air but also a passer, while Cicinho is just a good dribbler nevertheless he also has good treating method. Cicinho is just one more Brazilian fullback who's known for his approaching prowess, but he is not negative defensively, often. This season, he, alongside Jesus Navas, went up against Real Madrid's left flank presenting Cristiano Ronaldo and won. Method Sevilla should play in their base 4-2-3-1 formation, by having an focus on countering down each side of the frequency. Their midfield players will be needed by them to do a fantastic shift in the heart of the park to stop the Blaugrana passing attack. Sevilla want to play wide and strike down the flanks. With the solutions of Navas and Jose Antonio Reyes, not to mention Cicinho and Fernando Navarro at the fullback roles, Sevilla are harmful on the wings. Standing at 6'1'', Negredo is an excellent goal to aim for, and he's found he can end odds with his head. Nevertheless, the instructor Unai Emery features a few choices to create with an eye on the upcoming cup match. Some players will need to be spun. A strong team will be Emery fielded by the question is:, provided the quality of the opposition? Or will he attempt to cut his losses and concentrate on the pot match primarily? Lineup Andres Palop, a former Spain global, is doubtful in purpose. With Diego Lopez sold off to Real Madrid, Beto must certanly be responsible for the away side's goal. Beto got on loan from SC Braga after the Andalusians bought Lopez, and he is had little time to acclimate himself. However, he is devote great showings to date - though his ability is questioned by some to deal with crosses. In defense, Spahic is wounded this means Federico Fazio and former Barca person Alberto Botia must begin in defense. At right-back, Coke may deputize for Cicinho, while Alberto Moreno is Navarro's turn solution. H Medel, coming off a support against Deportivo, should use up an area in midfield. The Chilean is just a difficult tackler, and he'll be even madder than normal, as he feels he was unfairly sent off in the last meeting between the edges. The other spot would be then taken by geoffrey Kondogbia in the center of the message, although Hedwiges Maduro is just a chance. Piotr Trochowski remains on a injury (his last match was against Barcelona in the previous round) and with Diego Perotti out as well, Sevilla have limited possibilities down the flanks. When they want to rest Reyes or Navas, Manu del Moral could play. The place should be then taken by rakitic behind the key striker, though hypothetically Reyes or del Moral might play there, also. There's a possibility that Sevilla could go 4-3-3, with a more conventional midfield trio of Maduro, Kondogbia, and Medel, Negredo should then be the frontman, although He could be spelt by hypothetically Baba. Summary Sevilla have talent - the kind of Negredo, Navas, and Rakitic come in the sights of the large teams across Europe. However, like Navas, they seem to get a little homesick. Away from the Sanchez Pizjuan, they have been just a little anxious. Barcelona are at home and they're crazy. They desire to put the poor results to their rear, but they also have to look at the major activities coming up. Resting key people, are they perhaps susceptible to the process? Or will they develop another classic performance? Possible XI (4-2-3-1 ): Beto; Coke, Fazio, Botia, Navarro; Medel, ;Kondogbia; Navas, Rakitic, Reyes; Negredo Follow us on Twitter

The Zac Brown Band played a pre-race show in the Daytona International Speedway infield. Band member Clay Cook performed the national anthem. Retired football pitcher Tom Gordon, comedian Drew Carey, and Wes Welker and Steve Spurrier also were in attendance. Lewis named Keselowski on the eve of the 2012 season ending at Homestead-Miami Speedway and left him an inspiring voice communication. Keselowski also often listens to Lewis' motivational speeches before races. "I caught a of how he always observed my movies and it certainly impressed him," Lewis said. I send him motivational issues, and heads-up on what I'm doing, that is where the connection has gone." a Dan Gelston a' http://twitter.com/APgelston Com DANICA DROPS BACK: Danica Patrick created history by becoming the initial woman to begin from the pole in a NASCAR Cup race. In the beginning of the Daytona 500, she did not display still another landmark. Choosing the exterior position on the front row, Patrick quit the lead to Jeff Gordon on the very first lap, missing out on an earlier opportunity to become the first woman to lead a Cup lap. Over the first 10 laps, she settled in behind Gordon and held on to the 2nd position in the 43-car field. Patrick continued the radio ahead of the competition to thank her crew for giving this type of powerful car to her. "I will do the very best job I can to do my end of the deal today," she said. "All in every, thank you for anything. You guys are awesome." Later, Patrick sent the big crowd right into a frenzy when she seized the lead from Michael Waltrip on panel 90 after a number of pit stops under yellow. Laps were led two by her before Denny Hamlin increased to leading. a Paul Newberry a' http://www.twitter.com/pnewberry1963 Com FRANCO'S AUDIBLE: "Drivers... and Danica!!! ... Begin your engines." With this unique control, actor James Franco has ordered the 43 vehicles to turn on for the Daytona 500. The work is usually performed most abundant in popular words in racing: "Gentlemen, begin your engines." Of course, this year differs. Danica Patrick could be the first woman to begin from the post in a Cup race, and Franco suggested beforehand he was planning an audible. As unpredictable as ever, he passed on an opportunity to copy the order that has been used when Patrick ran in the Indianapolis 500, "Lady and males, begin your engines." Today, it's time for you to go racing at Daytona. a Paul Newberry a' http://www.twitter.com/pnewberry1963 Dumb A Satisfying BUNCH: NASCAR SUPPORTERS COME BACK TO CHANCE ZONE: Say this about NASCAR fans: They do not scare easily. 1 day after having a painful accident injured dozens of fans in the stands, these same chairs are filling for the Daytona 500. Nobody seems too concerned. "These ought to be good seats," said Rick Barasso, as he settled into a location which was right in the danger area when Kyle Larson's vehicle slammed into the catch wall on the ultimate panel of a Nationwide Series battle Saturday. "I mean, what are the probability of it occurring again?" That appears to be the attitude of the fans heading into the Daytona 500, the season-opening Cup competition and biggest event on the NASCAR agenda. Many people say it's worth the risk to sit next to the ear-rattling motion a' no more than 20 feet away for all those in the first row. They want to hear the motors, smell the exhaust, and feel the wind whipping inside their face as 43 cars go by at very nearly 200 mph. However, there are a few fans fretting about the place of the chairs. Raymond Gober came ultimately back to the exact same location where he was almost hit with a bolt from Larson's car. He scooped up the trash as a souvenir, although he acknowledged being fully a little anxious about his seat on the back row of the lower level. He even considered carrying his motorcycle helmet to the 500, but thought "everybody would begin laughing at me." He plans to get an upper-level chair in the primary grandstand, next year. "My father called and said, 'You are sitting in the same seats? "' Gober said. "He couldn't believe it." You will find grim reminders of what happened Saturday: a soft place that had been washed down (perhaps not entirely, nevertheless), a mark on a seat, still another seat that was somewhat bent from getting struck by that same tire. a Paul Newberry a' http://www.twitter.com/pnewberry1963 And EDITOR'S NOTE a "Daytona 500 Watch" demonstrates to you the Daytona 500 and events surrounding the battle through the eyes of Associated Press editors. Iker getting better from injury dreams with a title this season

Iker Casillas says his recovery from the broken bone in his hand is going much better than expected and he could possibly be back between your Real Madrid posts the moment late March.

Casillas' hand was broken by a random kick from his team-mate Alvaro Arbeloa throughout Madrid's Copa del Rey quarter-final recreation at the Mestalla on January 23.

It absolutely was feared he would experience 90 days on the sidelines, and the team moved quickly to sign Diego Lopez for 3.5 million from Sevilla to play in their likely season-defining games against Barcelona in the Copa and Manchester United in the Champions League.

The Madrid club chief told reporters on Thursday night, at the beginning of a new club look at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, that the original schedule had only been a worst-case scenario.

"I am feeling very positive," Casillas said. "The doctor gave the worst-case scenario to me, he explained it may get 3 months. But yesterday when the splint was removed, I was told I'd one month left. Now I'm doing effective exercises to get flexibility and energy back the finger."

Casillas said he had been working hard at Madrid's Valdebebas training facility to have back playing when possible.

"Until now I have maybe not had much power in it, but I am getting it back little by little," he explained. "We have reached the halfway point of the injury. I have still got per month to go. I will need certainly to work more and experience more to get straight back the flexibility of before. I am looking towards returning. It's worse being off the message than on it."

The event was also visited by Casillas' team-mates including Arbeloa, Xabi Alonso, Karim Benzema, Angel Di Maria, Jose Callejon, Nacho and Kaka, while coach Jose Mourinho was missing.

Alonso told reporters that he did not know yet whether he would get over his groin problem over time for next Tuesday's Copa semi-final second leg at Barcelona's Camp Nou.

"I am in the restoration stage," the midfielder said. "I am trying to get better the moment possible, to have gone the distress and reunite in top form. When I'll prepare yourself lots of people ask. I hope to manage to perform against Barca, but I don't have a remedy right now."

Former Liverpool player Alonso stated that, with the link balanced at 1-1, whoever obtained first in the Champions League last 16 get back game at Manchester United on March 5 could be favourites to progress.

"They should have the help of the fans," he said. "It is going to be described as a challenge. The medial side that results first will be favourites. Old Trafford is a great surface and it's the sort of match we all prefer to play. The tie is very open."

Di Maria said that it would fit Madrid to be playing abroad in both of the future, probably season-defining, games.

"Things are getting well and hopefully to carry on this way," he explained. "We know that we've to have big matches in both contests and that it will perhaps not be easy. Maybe playing away will undoubtedly be in our favour since we excel when things are against us. We have had this week to work with the easiest way to approach the games. I hope everything goes well."

Benzema, who remains question for Saturday evening's La Liga game at Deportivo La Coruna, said he wasn't concerned about his recent bad form facing target.

"I hope than I have up to now that I score more goals, but the important things may be the team and to win the future matches," he said. "We have to work together to get. We have an excellent group and we are all in good form."

Ricardo Kaka executed excellent in the game against Deportivo

"From the initial moment of the second half we saw an alteration of attitude. We did not win because of the alternatives, that have been made in the twelfth minute of the second half, but because of the change we made. It absolutely was the attitude of all of the participants that started the comeback.

"It holds true that honestly he [Kaka] is playing well. His frame of mind helps him and this is essential for the group, that he's another option and that he's playing well. That is always positive.

Kaka's performance also received the reward of assistant mentor Aitor Karanka, who was simply pleased about the result of the group after going behind to a Riki reach on 35 minutes.
"We knew that Deportivo weren't playing well and saw us as an opportunity to change their fortunes. However in the 2nd half we improved our play, we scored two goals and we could get the three points house or apartment with us."

The gain moved Real to within 13 points of group leaders Barcelona, until the Blaugrana surrounded out Sevilla later on Saturday night. Inspite of the border remaining the same, Kaka believes success over Depor could improve Real's likelihood of claiming silverware this period.

"I am better. What we've around the corner is interesting and it's the major area of the year and if the director wants me to play I'll be there to greatly help in those matches."

"The group is playing well and things are becoming better for me personally also. In soccer every thing changes quickly and I'm pleased to support the team win.
"[It was] an important victory really hard match. In the first half we were only a little anxious and we made several problems. In the second half we improved and we won three points which can be essential for us and for what's ahead over the next several weeks," Kaka told the club's officials website.

Manchester United Plan Stunning £55m Summer Bid to Re-Sign ...

Man United are readying a £55m bid to re-sign their former attacker Cristiano Ronaldo this summer according to the Daily Star.

fanatix tickets – El Clasico tickets are still available for the biggest derby match in Europe.Real Madrid vs Barcelona tickets are on sale for this massive La Liga clash at the Bernabeau on March 3rd.

The 28 year old is reportedly unhappy with life at Real Madrid and with Jose Mourinho seemingly set to leave the Bernabeu at the end of the season the Old Trafford side may feel they can tempt the Portuguese goal machine back to Manchester United.

Sir Alex Ferguson saw Ronaldo move to Real Madrid in a record breaking £80m deal in the summer of 2009 but it seems that Man United are of the belief that an offer of £55m could tempt Real Madrid to sell arguably the club's most pivotal player.

Real Madrid have been trying to tie down their prized asset to a new longer term contract but as yet have failed to do so and there is speculation that president Florentino Perez has lost his patience on his front and is ready to listen to offers for Cristiano Ronaldo but one would imagine such an offer would have to be in excess of the hefty sum the Spanish giants paid.

Ronaldo holds Sir Alex Ferguson in very high regard and if he were to leave Real Madrid a move back to Man United seems entirely plausible.

The former Sporting Lisbon man spent six seasons at Man United, racking up 118 goals in 292 appearances and winning three Premier League titles and the Champions League.

Ronaldo has gone from strength to strength in Spain's top tier, scoring an astonishing 183 goals in 181 appearances for Real Madrid.

Europa League: Only Stuttgart survives of four Bundesliga Clubs

Rome - Four Bundesliga clubs started in the knockout phase of 32 and after today's second leg only 1 moved through to the round of 16. VFB Stuttgart report two unanswered goals against Genk to simply take the aggregate 3-1. The rest of the Bundesliga groups teams lost. With four German sides in the round of 32, none of the groups started leg two with clean sheets from their leg one meets. None the less, all had a chance to get yourself a effect that could put them right through to the round of 16. Ultimately just VFB Stuttgart made the cut. Stuttgart topped Genk 2-0 with goals by Boka in the 45th and Gentner in the 58th minute, which gave an aggregate gain to the team of 3-1. Gladbach lost to Lazio Rome 2-0 for an loss of 5-3, Leverkusen transpired in defeat to Benefica Lisbon for a aggregate defeat, while Hannover 96 fought to 1-1 draw, which inturn fell short due to a 4-2 aggregate loss. The irony of the eliminations is that Leverkusen is third in the Bundesliga, while Hannover is eighth, Gladbach tenth and VFB Stuttgart is in the lower 50% of the Bundesliga table in 12th place. While Leverkusen has faired well in domestic competition with the likes of Kiessling, Schuerrle and Castro, on the international scene they've perhaps not done that well. KRC Genk versus VFB Stuttgart 0-2 aggregate 1-3 Both teams played unpleasant basketball, without creating dangerous scoring opportunities. The Belgian side eventually pulled back into a defensive and this resulted in the 1:0 cause for Stuttgart, before the half. Arthur Boka's deflection landed in the internet for the 1-0 lead. In the 2nd half Genk pressed to obtain the equalizer, but were never threatening to the Stuttgart protection. Religious Gentner solidified Stuttgart's victory in the 58th minute showing the Stuttgart gain and qualification for the round of 16. Stuttgart hosts Lazio on March 7 in the initial leg. Lazio Rome compared to Borussia MoenchenGladbach 2-0 aggregate 5-3 Gladbach, which has been irregular this season, had still another unsatisfactory performance in the current experience with Lazio. Because of this Lazio surely could capitalize on Gladbach's errors, while few some ideas came from the Gladbach area to offensively threaten the Italians. An effort near the end phase of the fit to press offensively remained without result. Lazio won without doubt and will fulfill VFB Stuttgart on Mar 7. Benefica Lisbon vs Bayer Leverkusen 2-1 aggregate 3-1 This match was started by leverkusen with one goal debt from knee one. Given Leverkusen's great domestic performance, the debt shouldn't have created significant issues. Activities have a means of taking on a kind of their particular. While Bayer Leverkusen enjoyed powerful at the starting of the match, Benefica found its sport rhythm earlier, but Leverkusen started to master the match. While Leverkusen had the greater overall half, with Kiesslng and Schuerrle reaching the articles, it was Lisbon that opened the score in the 60th minute, when John got the go ahead purpose. Schuerrle after an offside purpose and several shut calls, got the equalizer in the minute. Mattic moved the Portuguese side ahead in the moment. Despite efforts by Leverkusen and changing Milik for a midfielder, along side it was struggling to get an equalizer. In the long run Benefica was the better part and moves to the round of 16. Benefica hosts Bordeaux on March 7. Hannover 96 versus Hamilton Academical Anzhi 1-1 aggregate 2-4 Hannover started the match with a 3-1 deficit from leg one and was the side that was probably be eliminated. Regardless of the deficit, pressure was started by Hannover on Anzhi from the start, recognizing that a minimum of three targets were needed to push through to the next round. Anzhi targeted on counter problems, expecting that the Hannover side might be confused. Hannover got get a handle on of the match in the 2nd half. Defensively Anzhi was well positioned, but Sergio da Silva Pinto obtained the go ahead purpose for Hannover in the minute. With only 20 minutes remaining, Hannover had little chance to get two more objectives and ultimately Anzhi goes to the round of 16. Anzhi represents Newcastle on Mar 7. While only 1 German club stays in the Europa League, three English groups can go on to the round of 16. Newcastle, Tottenham and Chelsea have qualified to move right through to another round. Bayern Munich wasnt great against Arsenal, but a few players stood ...

There is no doubt that Bayern Munich was the better team at the Emirates Stadium in London on Wednesday evening, but the performance wasn't all there from the Bavarians. However, a few players really stood out.

Aside from Bild proclaiming that Bayern Munich were the new "Kings of London", the Bavarians' performance left a lot to be desired. The clearest evidence of this was their quite poor passing percentage. Normally, Bayern take pride in the accuracy of their passing, but they left most of that in Munich on Wednesday evening. According to WhoScored.com, Bayern's passing percentage was a measly 79.7%, which is the lowest rate in a Bundesliga or Champions League match since May 2011. While a decent amount of that was down to Manuel Neuer's extremely erratic night in goal, Javi Martinez was well off his normally quality performances.

While Arsenal's lone goal was quite a fluke --- I like to imagine Neuer is still coming up for why he allowed that ball to drop like he did. ---, Bayern never seemed to get out of second gear after the first half hour. This has been something that has been plaguing the Bavarians for most of the season, and it's still an issue this late into February. Bayern has been at their best in very few contests this season, and their inability to find that form on a regular basis should begin to be a concern.

That's not to say there were no great performances in the match against Arsenal. Here are a few that really stood out.

Watching Philipp Lahm operate up and down the flanks is a form of art. The defender may have lucked out a bit by being on the side of the field where Lukas Podolski was playing, since everyone knows that Podolski rarely, if ever, tracks back, but it didn't matter as Lahm was a class above on the night romping and roaring down the right side.

While watching the first half, I thought that either Arsene Wenger decided that he wanted his team to concede two-thirds of the field to Bayern, or the Bavarians were taking what they wanted and having their way with the London club. Maybe it was a little of both, now that I think about it. Lahm, and David Alaba on the left side also for that matter, seemed to spend as much time in Arsenal's half attacking as they did in their own half defending.

Lahm continues to play at a world class level year after year after year, and yet he never fails to amaze yours truly with the things that he manages to do on the pitch. His galloping run out of the back towards the end of the first half, when he perfectly placed his cross on the head of Mario Mandzukic, was a thing of beauty. If fantastic fullbacks is your thing, Bayern Munich are pleased to provide you with entertainment courtesy of Lahm and Alaba.

The evolution of Toni Kroos over the last three seasons has been a joy to watch. The 23 year old has become the vital cog in the machine that is the Bayern Munich offense. Jupp Heynckes moved Kroos into the role just behind the striker, and the midfielder has flourished like never before. He has eight goals and seven assists to his name so far, and these numbers will only grow as we continue on in this season. Kroos is one of the best pure strikers of the ball in the game today, and he displayed these abilities early with a seventh minute goal that completely silenced the normally-not-very-loud Emirates Stadium.

There's another 23 year old up top with Kroos, and his name is Thomas Müller. I'm not quite convinced that there is a player in world football that will score goals in a wider variety of ways that Müller. While many will put his goal on Wednesday night down to a "tap-in", it was far more difficult than it looked. When Wojciech Szczesny makes the initial save on Daniel Van Buyten's header, the ball just dangles in the air, inches from being knocked into the Arsenal net. Müller, in the process of falling backwards, has the wherewithal to keep his toes pointed down enough that his shot will angle into the roof of the net. From my perspective, the chances that Müller skies the ball over the net were just as high, if not higher, than him scoring the goal.

Kroos and Müller have gotten better and better every game this season, and with the three perspective competitions coming to a head in the upcoming weeks, the two German internationals will need to be on top of their game as never before.

Maybe it's just me, but does anyone else like this new Arjen Robben we're seeing on the field? Since he's no longer a regular starter, I was concerned that we would begin to see Robben coming in toward the end of matches and then just jacking up shot after shot after shot. He wouldn't care where he was. If he saw a crack of daylight, he was going to let a shot rip. Well, color me pleasantly surprised with what I've been seeing.

Mandzukic's goal today is a prime example of what I'm talking about here. Robben received the ball just outside of the Arsenal penalty area and took two touches while Thomas Vermaelen came toward him. My mind immediately went to where it always goes whenever Robben has the ball at his feet: my friend Bennett. I can hear Bennett's voice in my head now, "Robben will just push the ball to his left and blast a shot, and if they let him score that way, I will scream." I just knew that was what Arjen would do, but the Dutchman surprised me yet again. With Philipp Lahm streaking past him on the right, Robben played the ball into space for Lahm to run on to. Lahm's cross was simple yet perfect, and Mandzukic figured out a way to get it into the net for the third goal.

For some reason, I just don't feel that Robben would've made that past last season. Part of me believes --- No, part of me knows... --- that he would have just taken the shot once that little crack of daylight appeared. Not to mention all of the tracking back that he's been doing. Bayern likely prefer this Robben. Bayern likely need this Robben.

Eredivisie wrap: Ajax grab second as Feyenoord falter - Soccerway

Ajax went outright second in the Eredivisie after earning a 2-0 away win at RKC Waalwijk while Feyenoord fell to defeat on Sunday.

They also created a three-point gap to third side Twente and fourth-placed Feyenoord, with the latter succumbing to a surprise 3-2 loss away to PEC Zwolle.

The day began horribly for Ronald Koeman's side, as they trailed 2-0 within seven minutes by means of an own goal to striker Graziano Pelle and a Darryl Lachman strike.

Pelle went some way to making up for finding the back of his own net with two goals in as many minutes to draw Feyenoord level with 10 minutes to play in the first half at IJsseldelta Stadion.

But Zwolle ultimately denied their highly rated opponents, as Denni Avdic scored a 75th-minute winner to help his side escape the drop zone and into 15th place.

Vitesse went fifth on the table with their first win in three matches, as they ended Groningen's two-match winning streak with a 2-0 result at home.

Goals to Mike Havenaar and Wilfried Bony, the latter a penalty, saw Vitesse close within two points of Feyenoord and a European spot.

Sven Kums had put the visitors up on 10 minutes, but Den Haag had all the momentum at the break as they not only led but had a man advantage.

Danny Holla and Santi Kolk both got their names on the scoresheet, before Joey van den Berg received his marching orders for the visitors.

System 1-3 Bayern Munich - Survey|Fittings & Effects|Arsenal.com

Tue, 19th, Feb 19:45 Emirates Stadium Podolski 54 Kroos 7, Muller 21, Mandzukic 77 Collection Podolski 54 Bayern Munich Kroos 7, Muller 21, Mandzukic 77 By Richard Clarke at Emirates Stadium Arsenal have to be able to reach the Champions League quarter-finals it all to do in Munich on March 13. ArsAne Wengeras side were beaten 3-1 by Bayern on Tuesday night at Emirates Stadium in the initial leg of the last-16 tie. The German part scored twice in an exemplary starting 21 minutes through Toni Kroos and Thomas Muller. System did well to wrestle right back get a grip on of the game and Lukas Podolski reduced 10 minutes to the deficit after the restart. The home area pushed hard for an equaliser but the nearest they got was when Olivier Giroudas travel bounced cool off keeper Manuel Neuer. A couple of minutes later, Mario Mandzukic looped home a notably fortuitous third for the visitors. As as Bayern good have been, that strike was hard on Arsenal, who battled manfully for small reward. The goal makes their task in Germany much more complicated in three weeksa time. But Arsenal should visit Bavaria with the fact they can turn this link around. Before kick-off, a much-changed side had been named by Wenger. Laurent Koscielny retrieved from the affect to go back to central defense. That helped Thomas Vermaelen to maneuver out to left right back as Nacho Monreal was cup-tied. Theo Walcott was at the start while Aaron Ramsey, Mikel Arteta and Jack Wilshere made for a combative trio in central midfield. Podolski and Santi Cazorla were on the flanks. Bacary Sagna came back at back. Bayern had been crushed in last seasonas closing, possibly unfortunately, and they'd improved ever since then. They came with a number of impressive research to aid the declaration that they were Europeas best team right now. In the initial half, further evidence would be added by them to the controversy. Their early goal really came contrary to the grain of first eight minutes a but it was medical when it appeared. Walcott and Cazorla had damaged glaringly as the house side tried to impose themselves. But Bayernas first genuine chance found Muller whip in a cross from the proper. It was inches away from the extending Ramsey and Kross fulfilled the ball with a clean finish from the edge of the region. The target was exactly what Arsenal did not want and, understandably, they went 'safety first' in answer. But Bayern were not willing to take a backward step. They quickly first got it and went for a second. The genesis of the target arrived from Franck Riberyas appealing pass from the left flank to the proper which found Philipp Lahm in full flow. His cross was blocked for a large part. Kross swung it to the near post where Daniel van Buyten rose above the Arsenal protection to power in a header. It is beaten by wojciech Szczesny away but Muller poked the ball home from close range. Emirates was shaken. The first purpose had been a human body blow and the second had followed quickly in its wake. System needed seriously to shore up the game before they ventured forward and their sleeves were rolled up by them for another quarter-hour. In the 34th second, Wilshere lofted a free-kick to the place and the ball ultimately fell to Mertesacker, whose snap-shot was blocked. Arsenal ended the half having built up a modicum of stress on the Bayern purpose. However they were nearly caught out in the ultimate minute. Again the shift began down the proper. Lahmas super cross was nodded inches wide by Mandzukic. As the field was left by their team at the break the Emirates crowd chanted acome on Arsenala with gusto. The tie was only a quarter gone and already felt just like a long way back but everyone with a red-and-white center had to believe. And the followers would soon get their reward. The next half began like the first half had finished, even and open. System needed the crutch of an early on goal and it arrived in the 55th minute. Wilshereas spot found a path through the Bayern region and enticed Neuer forward. Though the owner missed it, allowing Podolski to jerk house the moving ball in to an unguarded net. It absolutely was the initial away goal Bayern had conceded in exactly 10 hours, ten minutes of competitive basketball. The attack stung Bayern in to greater offensive action. Kroosa hiking shot forced Szczesny to tip over at the from the part and, near post, Javi Martinez nodded just inches over. But Arsenal now fancied their odds of an equaliser and they would come near to finding it. First through Podolskias low cross-shot and then, in the second, Walcottas right-wing mix found Giroud, who'd just think about it. The Frenchmanas link was sure and his shot had power. It hit the feet of an unsuspecting Neuer and shifted away. It had been the type of moment where Arsenal needed a splash of fortune. A spot that has been brought into sharp focus four minutes later by the manner of Bayernas next. Change Arjen Robben fed Lahm down the proper. His low mix was achieved by both Sagna and Mandzukic rushing towards the post. A positive connection was made by neither however the ball looped high and fallen into the net before it could be scooped by the backtracking Szczesny away. As as Bayern good had been, great prices had emphasized the scoreline It could have now been worse fleetingly afterwards when Luiz Gustavoas deflected chance very nearly wrong-footed Szczesny. The keeper saved and Mario Gomez planted the rebound over the bar. The conclusion of the overall game was muted. Bayern had a really practical cause, Arsenal desired to prevent further damage. The home crowd stuck making use of their team and, sportingly, clapped Bayern off the message after ward. The German side had lived as much as their exalted status around Europe on a frustrating evening for Arsenal. However it is half-time and therefore, as the excellent Wilshere said in his TV interview afterwards... "This link is not over yet." 'Weave got some good talent in that dressing room, itas just all about putting that into one dish'

But his decision have been made by him and he is respected by me for this. aHe has been, and will continue to be, an excellent achievement for Manchester United. aHe has all the qualities of successful people engrained in him: power, integrity, ethics, personality and decision-making power. aI wish him well in whatever new challenges he will handle in the future.a Gill said: aIt has been the greatest freedom to assist Manchester United for 16 amazing years a' the past 10 that as its leader. aI have worked alongside the manager in the history of the game and been part of what I consider to be the best club in the best activity in the world.a
